Education a pupil with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the selected elementary school

In Diploma thesis, the author addresses the issue of educating a pupil with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). In the introduction, she explains her choice of the theme. In the theoretical part the author presents muscular dystrophy, its course, manifestations, treatment options and support, based on a study of professional medical, pedagogical, psychological and specifically pedagogical literature, It will also describe the specifics of the disease in relation to education of pupils with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and will list the educational possibilities for pupils with this disease in the Czech Republic. In the practical part, the author presents a qualitative research conducted through the analysis of a case study of a particular pupil, from his passive as well as participating observation in the classroom, from semi-structured interviews with the pupil's mother, with his teachers and his teaching assistant, with this particular pupil with DMD and his classmates. This bachelor thesis deals with the theme Activities of prevention methodologists at selected secondary schools. The aim of this work is to compare the Preventive Programs of selected secondary schools, what is the emphasis of the school in the area of primary prevention and what are the ways to meet the points of the Preventive Program. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts in the area of primary prevention of risk behavior of youth. It points to the system of prevention in the education system in the Czech Republic and briefly defines all areas of risky behavior of children and youth with which the school prevention methodologist works. The main attention is focused on the position of school methodists of prevention, describes its position in education and its position in the legislative framework in the work area. This bachelor thesis deals with left-handedness (sinistrality) in the environment of after-school clubs. The theoretical part defines sinistrality with respect to attitude to it in history, describes the types and forms of sinistrality and deals with the options how to recognize it, describes the possibilities of modern approach and support of left-handed children. It also defines the environment, functions and contents of activities in after- school clubs and describes possible support of left-handed children in after-school clubs. The goal of the practical research is to map the attitude of educators to left-handed children, to find out what kind of tools are used in the activities in clubs, to describe quality of equipment and facilities in the classrooms and also to find out what parents expect from the educators. It also looks into particular options how to support left-handed children in arts, music and physical activities in after-school clubs as well as in doing their homework and using IT devices. The education of people with Asperger's Syndrome

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of education of people with Asperger syndrome. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to learn, by the means of qualitative research methods, how already adult people with Asperger syndrome evaluate the course of their education. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical section. The theoretical section contains the definition of basic terms. It deals with education of pupils and students with special educational needs, considering the issue of Asperger's syndrome, not only from the legislative point of view, but also from the pedagogical point of view. The practical section of this bachelor thesis, be means of three case studies, investigated how already adult people with Asperger syndrome evaluate the course of their education. The sources of the data, the case studies are based on, include interviews with respondents interviewed in 2006, asking the same questions in both interviews. Other sources were medical reports, educational and psychological counselling center reports, newly conceived interviews with respondents and interviews with respondents' mothers. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of inclusive education for children with specific learning disabilities from the point of view of primary school teachers at selected primary school. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out the opinions of primary school teachers on inclusion of children with specific learning disabilities and on the basis of the information from the theoretical part to propose recommendations for pedagogical practice. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, I focus on defining inclusive education and its legislative framework, specific learning disabilities and their categorisation, the levels of supporting steps, the role of teacher and teacher's assistant in mainstream education and, last but not least, the games that can be used to correct specific learning disabilities in younger and older children and ways to improve at school. Diploma thesis Education of Practical school pupils is focused on observation pupils school achievements in two key subjects, it is Food preparation and Health education. Pupils take the final theoretical and practical exams. They obtain a certificate of studies completion and food preparation for auxiliary work qualifications. The target of this work is monitoring and recording the course of the lessons and performance of these pupils. There are two pupils who are the main participants of the study. The aim of the task is to refer about possibility of rising problems and its solutions. It is about the pupils tuition with autism, moderate mental retardation and speech development by one of them and with Asperger syndrome and mild mental retardation. Through the long-term observation of both pupils in the educational process the thesis offers possible solutions and prevention of failures or complications, in getting the required key competencies pointing towards passing the final exam and getting involved in a working process or to continue at a vocational school. The bachelor thesis deals with the professional development of the student Vít Voltr during his bachelor program of Leisure Time Pedagogy at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University. The key themes of leisure time pedagogy which are important for the author of the thesis are also part of the thesis. These include the motivation of leisure time participants or the position of leisure time teachers in society. The thesis also includes an analysis of a professional book from which the author of the thesis draws in his studies and practice. In the final part of the thesis the author also evaluates the career and personal contribution of the bachelor program.

TITLE: A pupil with Down's syndrome in craft classes at primary school AUTHOR: Bc. Libuše Kabylová DEPARTMENT: Department of Pedagogy SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Marie Linková, PhD. ABSTRACT: This thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part explains the conceps Down's syndrome, mental retardation, their context and it also defines integration and inclusion. There are also informations about the causes of Down syndrome and its typical physical features and possible health complications. It also mentions the behaviour of children with this disability, their development and possibilities of upbringing and education. The second chapter characterizes the teaching of Craft in lower secondary school with the help of general educational programme. The practical part gives the informations about the primary school where the joint education was realized. It also provides information about the concrete educational programmes with consideration to the subject Craft. Afterwards it follows its own research and analysis of lessons. Education of the Health in curriculum for special school

This diploma study named Health Education in the curriculum of special elementary school deals with an issue of subject Health Education in the special schools. This study is divided into theoretical, research and practical part. Theoretical part is about curriculum of the subject Health Education, School Educational plan and RVP ZV (RVP ZŠS) considering the subject Health Education (VkZ), specification of the pupil and didactic of the Health Education. Aim of the practical part is to offer and practically verify a learning block of the subject Health Education for chosen special school. That could be an inspiration for the other schools. The research part finds out a global conception of learning the subject Health Education and its influence on the pupils of elementary special school. The results of the questionnaire survey, which is a part of the research section, show that VkZ (Health Education) is an integral part of education at primary schools, it is important for the development of child's personality, for acquiring principal habits and information for further child's development and life.
