The Value of "Priessnitz Walking" as older adult exercise: issues of safety, adherence to the regimen, and fitness maintenance
Komínová, Olga ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Slabý, Kryštof (referee)
This diploma thesis presents a new form of outdoor activity called Priessnitz Walking, which means a connection of nordic walking, cooling limbs in a cold water and a yoga breathing exercises. A physiological grounds of each of its parts has been explained in the theoretical part of the thesis as well as its benefits for older people. Next to this, the thesis concerns about a physiology of aging and the importance of regular physical activity in later life. Our clinical experiment investigated an effect of PW during six-week training programe in older women attending Cardio Club Motol. A significant change in cardiorespiratory function and a positive subjective evaluation of the participates has been shown. Besides, we have found Priessnitz walking to be a save kind of endurance training for older people. A long-term adherance, which we also focused on, was not confirmed. Extra-articular manifestations of Ankylosing spondylitis
Wadowská, Marcela ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Koudelková, Irena (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to summarize findings about inflammatory rheumatic disease Spondylitis Ankylosing and its extra-articular manifestations. The most frequent manifestation are afflictions of : eyes (uveitis), heart (aortitis, aortic reguration), lungs (pulmonary fibrosis) and amyloidosis. The thesis describes the etiopathogenesis of different causes, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, therapy focusing on rehabilitation and possible complications. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Development of motor behaviour in the laboratory rat
Vítová, Šárka ; Mareš, Pavel (advisor) ; Bitnar, Petr (referee)
Rats are born at an early stage of neuro-ontogeny, comparable to the foetal stage of the human ontogenesis. Gradual maturation of the nervous system manifests in a changing motor behaviour. Here we review the chronology of motor development in the rat, including ontogeny of sensorimotor reactions, postural control, ground locomotion and swimming. The aim of the thesis is also to take inventory of methods for assesing the motor development in rats. Important intrinsic and extrinsic factors in the ontogeny of motor behaviour are discussed. Body scheme disorder effect in patients with scoliosis
Matějčková, Pavlína ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Špaňhelová, Šárka (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis, Body scheme disorder effect in patiens with scoliosis, is to introduce the terms scoliosis, body image and body scheme in terms of their history, definition, examination, disorders, and therapy. In the review of existing data it also analyses the relationship between body image disorder and emergence or development of scoliosis. Particularly, it represents the description of the area, whether body image disorder is one of the factors in etiology of scoliosis, or contranwise, on the basis of scoliosis emerges the body image disorder. Further, this work outlines brief descriptions of complications that affect a scoliotic patient from childhood through adolescence to adulthood, quality of life and limitations related to the issue of scoliosis. A case study of a patient suffering from the diagnosis can also be found in this thesis. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The pharmacological influencing of motor skills in juvenile laboratory rats

Ganaxolone is a new potencional antiepileptic drug, synthetic analog of allopregnanolone which is a metabolite of progesterone. Preclinical and clinical studies point out its anticonvulsive effect in the treatment of both partial and generalized seizures including refractory epilepsy. The aim of our research was to investigate changes in the motor performance of the immature rats after administration of ganaxolone. We also focused on the relation between motoric impairment and the age of the rats which correlates with the age of children. 90 immature rats of age 12, 18 and 25 days were tested. Rats were divided in three groups injected with doses of 20 mgGNX/kg or 40 mgGNX/kg and the control group. The tests for assessing motor performance were chosen with respect to the maturation of sensorimotor reflexes from the following batery of tests: righting test, bar holding test, wire mesh test, negative geotaxis test and open field test. There were no significant differences before and after injection of the drug and in comparison with the control group not even in comparison of classes of age. We have demonstrated that the dose of ganaxolone effective against epileptic seizures does not markedly affect the motoric performance of the immature rats. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The parameters of maximum breathing gas exchange depending on diaphragmactivation
Svitek, Martin ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Bitnar, Petr (referee)
The alm of the work was to evaluate the impact of facilitation of physiologic coordination of respiratory and postural functions of diaphragm by Vojta-therapy on gas exchange. This thesis summarizes available knowledge about anatomical background of diaphragm functions, together with other trunk muscles known as deep stabilizing system. Moreover, it describes coordination of breathing and postural functions. We tried to objectify impact of diaphragm activation on gas exchange in healthy adults. Two following spiroergometries were compared aťt:er Vojta-therapy stimulation and with placebo. We evaluated minute ventilation, breath frequency, tidal volume, oxygen consumption, rate oť elimination of carbon dioxide and respiratory quotient. There were no statistical differences between placebo and Vojta- therapy group at exercise intensity levels 1 W /kg, 2 W /kg and in maximal exercise. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
