Vliv různých metod výcviku mladého koně na jeho pozdější výkonnost
Bednaříková, Aneta
The present thesis identifies various methods of training young horses for sports and the influence of these methods on the subsequent performance of horses. A prerequisite for a standard good-to-excellent stable performance is baseline training which the horse undergoes from a very early age. The thesis compares various training methods and the utilisation of a number of aids that influence the subsequent performance of sports horses. The theoretical part describes training from the viewpoint of several authors, highlighting differing opinions about the use of training aids depending on the personal preferences of each of them. The practical part features charts and tables prepared based on a questionnaire. It has not been possible to determine directly whether any training method affects the later performance of horses. The answers, however, clearly show that the performance of each horse is dependent on several factors, the main ones being the way the training is conducted (rather than a specific method), the inborn predisposition for sports, and the general attitude to the animal.
