Characterization of five mosaic mortar beds from Austria produced by A. Neuhauser/Tiroler Glasmalerei and J. Pfefferle
Bauerová, Pavla ; Frankeová, Dita ; Slížková, Zuzana
The report contains the results of material analyses of five mortar beds of mosaics produced by the Austrian studios Neuhauser/Tiroler Glasmalerei and Josef Pfefferle. The analysed samples come from mosaics made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and located in various places in Tyrol. The mortars were analysed by SEM-EDS and thermal analysis. The results showed that, in addition to traditional materials such as marble dust, they also contain atypical or innovative components such as waste ceramic and glass shards or early Portland cement.
Microscopic analysis of malt samples taken from the objects: tower of the monastery in Sázava, Apolinář in Prague
Bauerová, Pavla ; Frankeová, Dita ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Using an electron microscope and EDS analysis, samples from two locations were examined - a sample of mortar from the tower of the monastery in Sázava and two samples of plaster from the Apolinař building in Prague (Apolinář - face, Apolinář - soil). The aim of the investigation was to determine the type of binder for plasters and coatings on plaster. A strongly hydraulic binder was identified in all three analyzed samples.
Laboratory microscopic survey of the stratigraphy of colored coatings on building materials of the Morzinski Palace building in Nerudova st. Prague 1
Slížková, Zuzana ; Náhunková, Pavla ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Stratigraphic analysis of the color coatings on the facade of the Morzín Palace in Prague in order to determine the color of the facade for the future restoration of the building.
Microscopic analysis of the mortars sampled from the Hradenín fortress
Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Vondráčková, Michaela ; Slížková, Zuzana
Two mortar samples and one sample of plaster of the exterior facade from the Gothic fortress Hradenín were examined using an electron microscope. The aim of study was to determine the type of mortar binder and to find out the technological procedure of surface coating application.
Chemical and microstructural analysis of sandstone samples from the cemetery portal at the Gothard in Hořice
Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Náhunková, Pavla ; Mácová, Petra ; Ševčík, Radek ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Determination of the chemical and mineralogical composition of the surface layer of sandstone and the speed of water transport through the surface of the stone (comparison of the properties of the light ocher surface and the black surface of sandstone.
Chemical and microstructural analysis of brick samples from the object of Zákupy castle horse stables
Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Náhunková, Pavla ; Ševčík, Radek ; Mácová, Petra ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Vondráčková, Michaela
As part of the construction-technical survey, historical brick samples were characterized using thermal analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS), ion chromatography (IC), infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and physical tests. The results of the tests testify to the good production quality of the masonry elements used. Based on the analyzes carried out, it can be assumed that the observed damage to the bricks is caused by high wetting of the masonry in combination with frost cycles, as well as crystallization cycles of water-soluble salts present in the surface layer of some bricks.
Analysis of a 19th century mortar
Bauerová, Pavla ; Frankeová, Dita ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Chemical and mineralogical composition of the binder and the aggregates of the mortar, using SEM-EDS and thermal analysis
Chemical and microstructural analysis of plaster sampled from the castle Sychrov (CR) – Breton tower
Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Náhunková, Pavla
The analysed mortar contains 76.5% by weight quartz sand and 23.5% wt. the lime binder - it is highly hydraulic lime. The aggregate of the mortar is made up mostly of quartz. The hydraulicity of the contained lime binder is evidenced by the presence of belitic clinkers, a strongly inhomogeneous microstructure (typical alternation of dense, Ca-enriched parts and more porous decalcified areas) and the presence of silicate components in varying degrees of reaction. It is suggested that the hydraulic binder used could have been artificially prepared by mixing lime with a hydraulic silicate additive.
Report on the results of the chemical and mineralogical analysis of the plaster sample from the object: Opočno Castle
Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Slížková, Zuzana
An analysis of historical plaster was carried out using thermal analysis and SEM-EDS analysis. The binders and aggregates of mortars and their surface treatments were characterized. The survey results were used for the design of the repair mortars.
Chemical and microstructural analysis of plaster samples from the Mayrau mine, Kladno – Vinařice
Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Vondráčková, Michaela ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Náhunková, Pavla
An analysis of historical plasters was carried out using thermal analysis and SEM-EDS analysis. The binders and aggregates of mortars and their surface treatments were characterized. The survey results were used for the design of the repair mortars.
