Spray drying of drug suspension in chitosan solution
Bartoňová, Eva ; Svačinová, Petra (advisor) ; Vraníková, Barbora (referee)
2 ABSTRACT Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of: Pharmaceutical Technology Consultant: PharmDr. Petra Svačinová, Ph.D. Student: Eva Bartoňová Title of Thesis: Spray drying of a suspension of the drug in a solution of chitosan During spray drying a liquid solution, suspension, or emulsion is converted to solid particles by means of a hot drying medium. The set drying parameters can affect the properties of the resulting particles. This work deals with the preparation of particles from a suspension of meloxicam in a solution of chitosan and the influence of the drying parameters and the concentration of this solution on the properties of the particles. The concentration of the solution was 0,5 %, 1 %, 1,5 % and 2 %. The inlet temperature was set at 170, 190 and 210 řC. The 2% sample was not dried due to high viscosity and nozzle clogging. The particles were evaluated by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and a dissolution test was used to evaluate the drug release from the particles. Two measurements were performed by DSC, the first M1 after drying the particles and the second M2 after 6 months. The resulting particles were spherical and irregular in shape and formed clumps. The particle shape was not affected by...

Venezuela in foreign policy of G.W.Bush: democracy promotion as an appropriate tool for protection of national interests?
Bartoňová, Eva ; Kozák, Kryštof (advisor) ; Fojtek, Vít (referee)
The relations between the United States and its traditional ally, Venezuela, experienced a turn for the worse during the presidency of George W. Bush. The Bush administration reacted to the radical president Hugo Chavez with an increase in funding of the so-called democracy promotion in Venezuela and with a silent support of the unsuccessful coup in 2002. The long history of U.S. interventions in Latin America during the cold war gives ground to the criticism by many authors who see these steps as an attempt to get rid of a democratically elected president just because he is confronting the American vision about a political and economic system desirable for the region. This work focuses on democracy promotion as a tool of the U.S. foreign policy, which is on one hand related to the identity of the United States as a unique historical democratic experiment, but also reacts to a threat posed to the national interests by other states. It deals with the types of threats that Hugo Chavez could have possibly presented, and thus shows to what extent the Bush administration used democracy promotion in a pragmatic way. The analysis of Chavez's actions in oil politics, economic integration and security issues, and its comparison with the trend in democracy promotion shows that the U.S. financing activities...
Aging in the country
Bartoňová, Eva ; Majerová, Věra (advisor) ; Petra, Petra (referee)
A man goes through several development periods in their life; and the ultimate stage is the old age. Today's middle age generation is awaiting a very long journey towards their well-deserved rest, and therefore it is necessary to change some patterns of thinking and behaviour in view of old age and aging generation. Every man should realize that they themselves will be old and reliant on the help of others one day, and adapt their behaviour and thinking accordingly now because not only every person but every senior deserves to be supported and encouraged enough to have a will and interest to live a quality life filled with an active interest in themselves and their surroundings, as well as to feel dignified, wanted and confident, not pushed to the edge of society, imprisoned in their loneliness and uncertainty.
Degradace půdy a potravinová bezpečnost v oblasti Sahel
Bartoňová, Eva
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the condition of land degradation and food security in the Sahel region. The thesis is divided into three sections: the theoretical and practical section and the proposal. The first part is dedicated to description of the soil types, the main factors of degradation, which affect the quality of soil, and the means of measuring food security. The second section follows the data from theoretical section and presents the analysis of the soil quality, the proportion of agricultural land from total area of the country, the agricultural production and food security with focus on health condition of the population. The situation is analyzed in the selected countries of the Sahel, specifically Mali and Niger. The proposal describes the changes of state policies in the area of agricultural production, the procedures against land degradation and low level of food security in accordance with sustainable development.
Molecular biodiversity inventory of the ichthyofauna of the Czech Republic - presentation of the started project
Mendel, Jan ; Halačka, Karel ; Vetešník, Lukáš ; Papoušek, Ivo ; Bartoňová, Eva ; Šanda, R. ; Koníčková, Milena ; Urbánková, Soňa
The study based on international cooperation would like to contribute in a significant way to identification and description of the species diversity of the complete Czech ichthyofauna using a comprehensive approach. The inventory and subsequent cataloguing concentrate on recent native and non-native species of fishes and lampreys living in natural waters of CR. The obtained results are used for inter-continental comparison of all fish species using the "DNA barcode" within the BoLD platform. The final summary evaluation will contribute to updating of the data for monitoring within the system Natura 2000 and will provide vital information and recommendations to the ANCLP CR. The new system of species collections of type specimens designed on the basis of a comprehensive approach and creation of a detailed voucher will mean significant contribution to the Czech museums.
The round goby, a new alien species found in the confluence of the Morava and Dyje Rivers (Czech Republic)
Lusk, Stanislav ; Bartoňová, Eva ; Lusková, Věra ; Klíma, Ondřej
In 2008, the occurrence of the Round Goby (Neogobius melanostomus) was ascertained in the confluence area of the Morava and Dyje Rivers. This non-native species invaded the hydrographic network of the Czech Republic through its own migration activity from the Danube. In 2009, the species is already common in that area. Successful reproduction of this species has been evidenced by the occurrence of yearlings. Genetic analyses of mitochondrial gene cytochrome b ascertained high proximity hereof gene among populations from the Dyje and Dnieper Rivers. One haplotype only has been identified in the Dyje River which was as compared with the studies of Doherty et al. (1996) and Stepien & Tumeo (2006), closest to haplotype A. Analysis of the first intron of ribosomal protein has revealed five haplotypes, AM1 – AM5. The haplotypes AM1 – AM4 formed a separate group with haplotype AHC3 (Neilson & Stepien 2009) from the region of the Dnieper River near Kiev.
