Infastructures of (the history of) art
Bartlová, A. ; Buddeus, Hana
Infrastructures are one of the central themes of contemporary art, what place do they have in the discipline of art history? Proceedings of the VIIth Congress of Art Historians, held in September 2021 in Ústí nad Labem, discusses the topic in five chapters, revealing the mechanisms of collecting, exhibiting and reproducing art, art education, and the conservation of art monuments. The focus is on the temporally and locally conditioned context, everything that surrounds the work, what materially constitutes it and what enables or directly conditions its existence, what preserves it in time and what brings attention to it.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" Changes in the Character of the Princess in the Films of Walt Disney and his Studio.
BARTLOVÁ, Andrea
The thesis focuses to the evolution of female characters in Disney cartoons. It investigates whether the characters change in any way and if so, what changes happen. The work is chronologically arranged and divided to several time periods. Each chapter contains particular fairytales which are mutually compared. Every fairytale is also set in the historical context. We will also explore whether the films are influenced by the period context. The aim of the thesis is to find out what the chosen fairytales have in common and how the main female characters evolve. This is described in 4 different eras, which are following: from the classical period within years 1937-1967 we have Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. In years 1967-1988 there were no films with a princess as a main heroine and the studio dealt with a crisis. In the 1980s the company management changed and Michael Eisner became the studio managing director. Within years 1989-2005 many successful films were created in the studio. We chose The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas. Robert Iger has been the studio managing director since 2005. We chose Tangled, Frozen and Moana from the last period, which hasn't finished yet. Eventually we mention the Disney studio impact on society. We study its marketing abilities and the use of advertisement. The conclusion shows how the heroines changed from girls who needed to be saved by the Prince Charming over girls who took their fate in their own hands to princesses equal to men.

Mass and Crowd. Multiplicity in works by Ivan Kafka
Bartlová, Anežka ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Pospiszyl, Tomáš (referee)
I have paid attention to artworks of Ivan Kafka especially to the problem of multiplicity. On the background of the reseach of Kafka's work I have described some aspects of his art work in more common way: dealing with time, with space and with multiplicity. I have shortly analyzed first two aspects. On the other hand is multiplicity much wider phenomena, I have defined with categories which were created specially for this work. The category of mass is defined by non-living unifique parts of one coplex without any autonomy. The second type labeled as crowd type, typically contains some level of individuality. On such background I tried to create a diagramatic structure, which was postulated according to Rolasind Krauss'es "expanded fields". This should better show the relations between terms like mass, crowd, seriality and serial type of multiplicity. I have also applied these categories on particular Ivan Kafka's artworks, but in the end I suggest to asser this system of multiplicity categories on other artists artworks as well.

Aspects of humour in visual arts of the Early Modern
Annotation I have chosen Hans von Aachen's image Laughing peasants for my work and I suggest its interpretation from the point of "vulgar" culture of laughter and also its connection with art at the court of Rudolf II. I have recompared the picture with some images depicting a similar topic of peasant's festivals. RI suggest as a conclusion that the image has no connection with these works, and I think it is more likely a certain type of portrait. The correct topic of von Aachen`s image is private a play between the painter and recepient. This interplay is enacted between the beholder and figures in the image and another interesting play takes place concerning the image medium itself.
