The Czech National Bank, its legal position and scope of activities This diploma thesis evaluates the legal position and scope of activities of the Czech National Bank through the analysis of the current legislation, literature and other sources. Partial aspects affecting the legal position and activities of the Czech National Bank are described separately, but due to their mutual connections it is important to see them as a part of the whole context. The thesis also points at questionable issues and offers both expert's as well as author's attitudes. This diploma thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter characterizes central banking itself, defines the role of the central bank in the banking system, shows the differences in conception of central bank and outlines the methods of establishing of central banks. The second chapter briefly describes the evolution of central banking in our country, focusing on the importance of historical events, which contributed to the creation of the Czech National Bank, as we know it today. State supervision of financial activities The topic of this dissertation thesis is the state supervision of financial activities. The topic is really wide, so the author can take into account all of the financial relationships related to this area. This thesis focused on theoretical issues, on the legal relationships in this area, and specifically on the selected areas, in which was a drafted question later on in detail analyzed. In the theoretical area are considered terms such as regulation, supervision and control. The aim was to define these concepts theoretically, to chart their frequency and semantic nature in the area of financial activities. The aim of this thesis was also to investigate, whether it is possible to set out the terms that are used both in everyday and in professional life in an identical meaning, and define specifically for the area of financial law. It has been found that it is very difficult, if not impossible task, as any definition cannot cover the diversity, frequency and a steady increase in the financial legal relations. Title: The status and activities of the Czech National Bank in the context of European development Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyze the legal status, power and scope of activities of the Czech National Bank as the central bank of the Czech Republic with regard to the historical development of this institution and the development of European legislation. The main part of the thesis is focused on possible impacts of euro adoption in the Czech Republic, mainly the impact on legislature, the status and activities of the Czech National Bank. Introductory chapters focus on the historical development and institutional framework of central banks in our country, followed by the description of the main features of the Czech National Bank, with a focus on monetary policy, regulation and supervision of financial markets. The last two chapters deal with the issue of the European Monetary Union, the adoption of the common European currency and the fulfillment of the convergence criteria in the Czech Republic. Public Law Regulation of the Activity of Insurance Intermediaries

The purpose of this thesis on "Public Law Regulation of the Insurance Intermediaries" is the evaluation of the current regulation of the insurance intermediaries with regard to the goals of the public-law regulation of this sector. In the first part using the historical overview both in Czech and Europian context I am concluding the grounds and demands standing in the beginning of express formulation of the public interest that the state power should interfere with the insurance mediation sphere. In the following parts there are the selected provisions of the Act no. 38/2004 Coll. Of Acts, on the insurance intermediaries, and their impact on the practical execution of the intermediation activity analyzed. I am emphasizing the mandatory registration made by the state authority as a condition for entering the industry. An attention is devoted to the requirements of the professional ability and to the evaluation of its proper legal treatment with regard to the scope of competence of individual categories of intermediaries. In the last chapter there is a review of the proposed legislation which is currently in progress within the legislation procedure executed.

CZECH NATIONAL BANK - LEGAL STATUS AND CONTENT OF ATIVITIES Diploma paper First chapter is called The Introduction. This chapter describes the filling of my diploma paper. There is also short outline of tranformation from statism to free economy in our history. This transformation affects our banking system significantly. Second chapter defines what the banking system is. It consists of banking institutions and relations between these institutions. That`s why the banking system has two components - institutional component and functional component. Institutional component of banking system implies every single bank. Functional component of banking system comprises arrangement of all relations between banking institutions. It is proper to make differences among single stage, two stage and three stage banking systems. Central bank has different position and legal powers in each of these systems. Relations of Central bank to Commercial banks The purpose of my thesis is to analyse relations among central bank and commercial banks in current view with emphasising on situation in the Czech Republic. This analysis is a critical appraisal of issues in relation to current legislation, and last but not least also the planned changes, which are currently under discussion. Relations of the Central bank to Commercial banks This thesis deals with the relations among the central bank and commercial banks laying emphasize on the situation in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to characterize and analyze relations among the Czech National Bank and commercial banks, to evaluate them and suggest possible legislative improvements to strengthen the stability of banking institutions and thus the entire economy. In the beginning of the thesis the basic terms are defined. Then the types of relations among the central bank and commercial banks are described. The thesis is due to the wide number of emerging relations among the central bank and commercial banks focused mainly on relations associated with entrance into the banking sector, on the proper functioning of banks and on the relations associated with their extinction. The main part of the thesis is logically divided into another three parts.
