TITLE: The Phenomenon of Tattooing - The Body As a Sociocultural Document ABSTRACT: The work deals with the phenomenon of tattooing and its historical and current presentation through the means of contenporary visual culture. It describes the reasons for the occurances of this phenomenon in past culture, ritual and socio-cultural aspects of tattooing, with emphasis on their aesthetic and artistic fiction. In the technical terminology the text disserts with the techniques of tattooing and the principles of depiction, including themes, motifs and symbolism. Czech police uniform: past and present

This bachelor thesis aims to show the development of police uniforms from the First Republic to the present, to point out the overlaps of concept of uniformity into fashion and values of civil society and also to evaluate the possibilities of this subject in art education through a number of designs and its reflection through the author's own work. The work outlines the key concepts, then continuously passes into the part which is dedicated to developing and describing police uniforms, followed by the artistic part. This part has two aspects. The first aspect is thinking about appropriateness of topics related to police uniforms for pupils of different age groups and the second aspect is the author's part capturing a police uniform in everyday life.

Military and police uniform phenomena

Bachelor dissertation depicts historical development of military uniforms from ancient times to present military forces and simultaneously looks into influence of uniformity of clothing on life in civil sector. In theoretical part the attention has been paid to the reasons for uniform's establishment and its transformation from multi-coloured dress into a strictly functional dress using protective components and also highly presentable uniform intended for ceremonial occasions. The work looks for the military uniform's examples in contemporary fashion and the reasons for their usage by respected fashion designers. The work also deals with the term "dress code", which has been increasingly affecting the style of our clothing. This topic has been also worked out for its importance in didactic part of the work. The final part of the work studies perception of police uniform as a piece of clothing and its reflection to the feelings of uniformed and civil sphere. In an authorial visual part are the topics related to the area of the Police of the Czech Republic depicted with a slightly detached view.
