Author names current trends in education, such as Bring Your Own Device, Massive Open Online Courses and online education in general. Special attention is given to the near future of education according to the latest Horizon Report study. This is followed by the overview of the virtual reality technologies as they enter into mainstream adoption next year. A little attention is also given to the beginning era of cognitive computational systems, which will have essential impact on forming education in the future. Optimizing treatment options for patients with chronic myeloid leukemia
Bělohlávková, Petra ; Žák, Pavel (advisor) ; Faber, Edgar (referee) ; Ráčil, Zdeněk (referee)
Introduction Patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) are usually treated with imatinib 400 mg/day. Despite excellent therapeutic response to imatinib, 20 - 30 % patients are resistant to this treatment. Several molecular mechanisms leading to imatinib resistance have been proposed (amplification and overexpression of the BCR/ABL1 gene, point mutations). It has been suggested that one of the reasons for the varied response to imatinib may be due to inter- individual differences in imatinib metabolism. Objective The primary goal was to find new biological parameters which could clarify the cases of unexplained imatinib failure. In our study we analyzed the influence of polymorphism in seven genes linked to the pharmakokinetics of imatinib: CYP3A5*3 (rs 776746), CYP3A4*1 (rs 2740574), CYP2C9*3 (rs 1057910), SLCO1 (rs 683369), ABCB1 (rs1045642, rs 1128503), ABCG2 (rs 2231142) and ABCC2 (rs 717620). We evaluated the association of these polymorphisms in optimal response and plasma levels of imatinib. The secondary objective was to evaluate whether the standard dose of imatinib 400 mg/daily leads to achieving optimal therapeutic response and whether this dose induces a sufficient plasma levels of imatinib. Methods and results We analyzed 112 patients with CML. Our cohort included 53 men (47 %) and 59...
Orff-Schulwerk Approach to Folk Songs for Elementary School Education
Nováková, Monika ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Kopřivová, Jitka (referee)
Diploma thesis Orff-Schulwerk Approach to Folk Songs for Elementary School Education consists of two parts: theory and practice. The first theoretical describes the basic Orff-Schulwerk thesis for education at the elementary schools in the lessons of Music or in the preparatory units of children choirs. Author introduces Carl Orff biography, circumstances of Orff-Schulwerk creation and its characteristics which is compared to the psychological theories, mainly with the flow phenomenon. The thesis covers the implementation of the Orff-Schulwerk approach to the Czech Framework Education Programme. Author compares studies describing the results of Orff-Schulwerk method in comparison to other methods. The research has not confirmed the thesis, that Orff-Schulwerk has better results in the music education field. The abroad studies confirmed, that Orff-Shulwerk approach is suitable for working with children with special educational needs. On the basis of the sources and literature, the author assumes that Orff-Schulwerk can lead to more intense interest in music and culture itself. Furthermore, the author enriches Orff's approach by ideas and approaches of two known pedagogues and composers: Zontán Kodály and Émile Jaques-Dalcroze. The diploma thesis covers their curriculum and those pedagogical...

Children Operas by J. Uhlir and Z. Sverak and their didactic utilisation
Hánová, Markéta ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Váňová, Hana (referee)
This thesis discusses children's operas by J. Uhlir and Z. Sverak. It consists of brief biographies of both authors, summary of the origin of literary stories - fairy tales for simple librettos written by Z. Sverak, the theoretical implementation of the concept of children's operas and a practical analysis of each opera: Budulinek, Karkulka (Little Red Riding Hood), O dvanacti mesickach (The Twelve Months), Sipkova Ruzenka (Sleeping Beauty). Structural analysis has then been applied - the operas were divided into scenes, each musically analysed in terms of their melodies, harmonies and forms. Next, possible didactically challenging parts have been identified and how to use these rhythm, intonation and language issues for lesson planning have been suggested. In the next part of the thesis, the afore-mentioned issues have been empirically verified using the following methods - observation, practical class-leading and reflexive analysis of video recordings. KEYWORDS: Children's opera, fairy tale, musical theme, Budulinek, Karkulka, O dvanacti mesickach, Sipkova Ruzenka.
