Temperature changes in lead-acid batteries
Grepl, Jan ; Chladil, Ladislav (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is familiarization with the basic lead-acid batteries construction with specialization on their differences. This work is divided in theoretical part and practical part. At first, the theoretical part deals with basics of functions of electrochemical cells and their fundamental division. In the case of lead-acid batteries the work focuses on the fundamental chemical reactions and fundamental principle of their construction. Aftwerwars are also in this part included negative phenomena, which can occur during the operation of the lead-acid batteries and possibly decrease their capacity or shorten their lifetime period. In practical part takes part description of measuring station. Subsequently is realised the correction of masurement sensors. Finally there takes place an analysis of measured parameters in experimental cell in CC and CC/CV charging mode.
Vizualization of impurities in production processes using Recognoil 2W device
Řezníček, Lukáš ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Chladil, Ladislav (advisor)
This work deals with the detection and visualization of impurities during production processes and on the PCB surface using the Recognoil 2W device. The principle of operation of the Recognoil 2W device is described, as well as other methods and options for detecting dirt. Surface preparation methods and technological processing processes, where emphasis is placed on surface cleanliness. At the end of the work, the technological processes dependent on surface cleanliness and the analysis of PCB surface cleanliness using the ROSE method are processed.
Fleet optimization to reduce CO2 emissions
Kolísek, Josef ; Jandová, Kristýna (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of air pollution caused by the operation of cars. Nowadays, the topic of climate change, ecology of production, operation of cars and the related emissions they produce into the air is more and more trendy. This thesis focuses on the evaluation of the causes of exhaust emissions and their possible regulation and reduction. In the introduction of the thesis, the types of engines are classified according to their fuel and their various advantages and disadvantages. In the next part of the thesis, the attention is paid to the treatment of the real consumption values against the theoretical consumption values of hybrid cars, electric cars and conventional combustion engines. The thesis continues to analyze the time usage of different types of cars and their downtime in each quarter of the year and in this way evaluates the efficiency of different cars and the efficiency of battery usage in hybrid cars.
Temperature changes in different designs of lead-acid batteries
Langer, Martin ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with lead accumulators, the possibilities of their division and the basic reactions that take place inside taking into account the design features of individual types. Both exothermic and endothermic reactions taking place at the electrode-electrolyte interface, as well as the heating of the accumulator caused by Joule losses on its internal resistance, are then discussed in more detail. However, the charging reaction is also accompanied by other internal processes of the accumulator, which are related to electrolysis, recombination of water and polarization resistance. A calorimeter made of expanded polystyrene and a measuring center with external temperature sensors are used to quantify the degree of causation of temperature changes of individual processes. In the thesis, the rate of heat loss through the walls of the calorimeter is subsequently evaluated and used to calculate the total thermal energy during cycling.
Inspection and optimization of soldering profiles of reflow furnaces
Flos, Milan ; Zatloukal, Miroslav (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the implementation of solutions for the control of temperature profiles in an industrial environment. The theoretical part deals with the soldering process itself, individual types of soldering and their possible defects. Furthermore, the problem of temperature profiles, their division and the advantages and disadvantages of individual profiles were discussed. Subsequently, the measurement was performed on several remelting furnaces and its evaluation. Lastly, the design of the holder for the profilometer and the PCB itself was created.
Negative lead electrode for hybrid electric vehicles
Opravil, Petr ; Zimáková, Jana (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This bachelors thesis is focusing on degradational proceses occurring in electrodes of lead-acid batteries working in parcial state of charge used in hybrid electric vehicles. Studied topics include storage of electrical energy, hybrid powertrains and lead-acid accumulators. Experimental cells have been made and were later used in experiments maintaining partial state of charge. This work is focused on finding a link between silanized glass fibres added to the electrodes and lowering the amount of degradation of cells.
Negative Electrode for Sodium-ion batteries
Šimek, Antonín ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on the research of negative electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries. It contains a general introduction to the issue of batteries, their brief historical development, basic operating principles, key parameters and classification. Attention is paid to lithium-ion batteries, which are the most used technology today. Sodium-ion batteries as their potential replacement, especially in the field of energy storage from renewable sources, are based on lithium-ion technology. Promising candidates for the material for the negative electrode of sodium-ion batteries are sodium titanates. Their synthesis and subsequent electrochemical characterization of electrodes using sodium titanate as the active material are included in the practical part of this work.
Support of company management systems using available software tools
Panák, Petr ; Jandová, Kristýna (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Successful organisations are build upon effective management systems based on general values, concepts and processes, described not only in standards. While standards represent general requirements, area of expertise demands specific requirements. In both cases management systems are supported by suitable software tools making collaboration and workflow easier. The thesis focuses on correct evaluation of software tools adhering to relevant requirements of ISO standards. General evaluation criteria are outlined and then specified. Evalution approach, method and guide are created. Table and database editors are considered as possible evaluation tools. As an example, tools for organisation management support are evaluated. The practical part of the thesis describes a specific organisation and its needs for document and internal audit management, from which criteria, evaluation method and recommendations are drawn. At the end is described the counselling procedure.
Comparison of parameters of selected types of commercial lithium-ion batteries
Špina, Martin ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with operation principles of Lithium-ion battery. It evaluates its characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages. Technological processes and materials used in manufacturing and recycling are also discussed. Practical part of the thesis evaluates initial capacity of given Li-ion cells at different loads. Batteries are then cyclically charged and discharged, and its capacity and other parameters are determined. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy data are also taken and evaluated for batteries in new-like condition, used batteries and cycled batteries as the capacity fades.
