Ecological Application of Carbon Dioxide and Its Use in Sustainable Chemistry
Bušta, K. ; Wagner, Zdeněk
Carbon dioxide, which is mostly waste of chemical processes and of combustion processes, finds currently a wide scope of application as a versatile technical gas, as one of basic building blocks for synthesis in organic chemistry. A great many applications in the technical area contribute to the protection of the environment and human health. Zadejte text nebo adresu webu nebo přeložte dokument. Solubility of Ionic Liquids in Binary Systems with Water and Pseudobinary Systems with Solution Methanol/Water (1:1 Proportion of Weight)
Machanová, Karolina ; Bendová, Magdalena ; Sedláková, Zuzana ; Wagner, Zdeněk ; Aim, Karel
In this work, a study of solubilities of the above-mentioned ionic liquids in binary systems with water and pseudo-binary systems with solution methanol/water (1:1 proportion of weight) is presented. Knowledge of solubility of ionic liquids in these particular systems is helpful in the design and optimization of homogeneous catalytic processes, such as biphasic and reversibly biphasic catalysis. The solubilities were investigated by two experimental methods – the cloud-point and volumetric method.
High-Pressure Measurements in Binary System Containing Supercritical CO2 and 1-Butanol
Sedláková, Zuzana ; Bendová, Magdalena ; Wagner, Zdeněk ; Aim, Karel
The aim of this contribution is to test the Supercritical Phase Monitor apparatus by comparing solubility of ethanol or 1-butanol in supercritical CO2 to literature data. New experimental data were also obtained.
Molecular Simulations of Chemical Reaction Equilibrium and Space-Dependent Self-Diffusion of Dimerization Reactions in Carbon-like Slit and Cylindrical Nanopores
Lísal, Martin ; Předota, Milan ; Aim, Karel
We present results of a molecular-level study of the effects of confinement on chemical reaction equilibrium and self-diffusion of dimerization reactions in slit and cylindrical nanopores.

Aim, Karel ; Wichterle, Ivan
Vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) in the quarternary system at 50 and 75 oC has been experimentally studied and modelled.
Pokroky v popisu termodynamických vlastností soustav obsahujících alkanoly
Aim, Karel ; Nezbeda, Ivo
Two lines of research dealing with the applications of the so called primitive models (of association) to describe the thermodynamic properties of alkanolic systems will be outlined, namely (i) molecular simulations for the water and methanol mixtures, and (ii) equation of state developments for the alkanol and carbon dioxide systems. Molecular simulations on water–methanol mixtures were performed by using primitive models that descend from realistic models of molecular interaction for both compounds. The results for both the excess mixing and partial molar properties of the system over the entire concentration range were compared with the molecular simulation results for the commonly accepted complex realistic models (effective pair-wise potentials) and with experimental data.
Botnání Nafionové membrány a její předpověď skupinově-příspěvkovou metodou
Randová, A. ; Bartovská, L. ; Hovorka, Š. ; Izák, Pavel ; Poloncarzová, M. ; Kolská, Z.
The anisotropic swelling of Nafion 112 membrane in pure organic liquids was monitored by an optical method. The results were used as the input for application of the group contribution method to the relative expansion in equilibrium. Value of plus minus 1.5 % in relative expansions was determined to be the experimental error. Maximum differences between the experimental and calculated relative expansions did not exceed the value of plus minus 3 %.
Vliv přídavku iontové kapaliny 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-chloridu na tvorbu pevné sloučeniny.
Sedláková, Zuzana ; Sauton, H. ; Malijevská, I.
The research was aimed at studying the effect of addition of an ionic liquid to two systems on a forming of a compound in a solid phase. Dissociation parameters were calculated for solid compounds.
Měření a predikce pevné sloučeniny v systémech s iontovou kapalinou
Sedláková, Zuzana ; Sauton, H. ; Malijevská, I. ; Hynek, V.
In present time there is an increasing focus on ionic liquids. Solid-liquid equilibrium has been measured for ternary cuts in two organic systems. Systems were contained of carboxylic acid (acetic acid or propanoic acid) plus formamide plus ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-metylimidazolium chloride. Dissociation thermodynamics quantities were calculated for solid compounds from binary systems. Obtained estimation of the range of solid compounds was compared with experimental data.
