Regional disparities in rental housing affordability

The paper addresses an analysis of regional disparities in rental housing affordability in the Czech Republic. In the paper, the issue of measuring housing affordability and the lack of relevant data set(s) are discussed. Additionally, the paper shows selected results of analysis of regional disparities in rental housing affordability in the period 2000 – 2006. The aim of the paper is to discover whether the disparities have been growing or shrinking among regions and among different types of households.

Systems of subsidised (social) housing in Europe

The paper is focused on general definition of social housing in European countries, on general assessment of advantages and disadvantages of social housing and the question whether some part of the housing stock in the Czech Republic could be considered for social housing. Some questions related to introduction of social housing in the Czech Republic are also discussed.

Regional disparities in housing affordability – project description

The conference paper aims to provide basic information about the project supported by the Ministry for regional development of the CR. The goal of the project is to describe situation and development of regional disparities in housing availability and housing affordability and to analyse selected consequences (unemployment and migration rates, demographic conditions etc.) of regional disparities. The goal of the project, expected outcomes and research activities are described in the conference paper.
