The problems connected with geomagnetic activity forecasts in the different phases of the last solar cycle
Hejda, Pavel ; Bochníček, Josef
The paper analyses the successfulness of forecasts of the geomagnetic disturbed days, carried out in the years 2000-2003. A day was considered as disturbed if geomagnetic activity at the Budkov observatory reached the level "active" or higher.
Height profil of geomagnetic storm effects in the ionosphere and atmosphere
Laštovička, Jan
The construction of the height profile of the geomagnetic storm effects in the ionosphere and atmosphere is described. In the F2 region the ionospheric effect is strong and is a response to thermospheric storm. In the lower ionosphere, the strong effect is a direct consequence of a substantial increase of flux of precipitating high energy particles. In the lower atmosphere the origin of strom effects is different.
Main sources of solar wind high-speed streams during solar minimum
Bochníček, Josef ; Hejda, Pavel
Common analysis of solar wind (velocity, concentration, temperature) and solar soft X-ray images showed that during the solar minimum substantial majority of the solar wind high-speed streams found its source in the regions with attributes typical for coronal holes.
