Phase equilibrium in aqueous solutions of octablock copolymer of poly(propylene oxide)/poly(ethylene oxide)

The phase diagram of the associating octablock star copolymer of polyethylene oxide/polypropylene oxide in water was constructed on the basis of visual observations and DSC measurements.
DSC study of blends of two crystallizable polymers

DSC studies have shown that the blend of polycarbonate/polyoxyethylane shows partial miscibility in amorphous phase at temperatures close to Tm POE. At temperatures close to TmPC polymers do not interact. Crystallization of PC is stimulated and that of POE retarded by presence of the other polymer in the blend.

Melting behaviour of poly(N-methyldodekaco lactam) was studied by the temperature modulated DSC. Non-linear behaviour observed is given by melting kinetics and strong temperature dependence of c.sub.p./sub. in the melting region.
Calculations of phase equilibria for polymer blends

Methods of calculations of phase equilibria in polymer blends with specific interactions are analyzed on the basis of the quasichemical Barker theory. Particularly, numerical solution of the equation of the spinodal and subsequent construction of curves of phase coexistence in these systems are performed.
Kinetics of polymer crystallization

Kinetics of three steps of complex crystallization of poly(N-methyldodecano-12-lactam) were studied by DCS using an Avrami model. Mechanism of respective isothermal steps involves mixed heterogeneous/homogeneous nucleation (primary melt crystallization) or missing nucleation phase (additional crystallization and recrystallization) followed by two-dimensional growth.
