Image data sequentiality influence on measurement precission of the image correlation method
Jahoda, J. ; Valach, Jaroslav
The contribution demonstrates improvement of digital image correlation displacement measurement's precission achieved by sequential processing of images acquired on several loading substeps in comparison to the presiccion achiavable by processing only the images of the unloaded and loaded state.
Radiographic Observation of Strain Field and Consequent Damage Zone Evolution
Vavřík, Daniel ; Jakůbek, J. ; Jandejsek, Ivan
This work reports on results of the radiographic observation of 3D displacement/strain field and consequent damage evolution during loading of specimens with recognizable inner structure. In-plane deformations are evaluated from radiographs using the image correlation technique. The out-of plane displacement field is measured thanks to an accurate radiograph intensity to material thickness calibration.
Simultaneous radiographic observation of damaging and optical measurement of 3D surface displacement evolution in loaded specimen
Vavřík, Daniel ; Bryscejn, Jan ; Jakůbek, J. ; Holý, T. ; Valach, Jaroslav ; Vykydal, Z.
This work reports on the results of the experimental observation of generation and evolution of internal material damage during loading process in aluminium alloy flat specimen with stress concentrator. Material damage is investigated by means of the "X ray Dynamic Defectoscopy" technique. To understand related physical processes, the surface plastic strain field is investigated by the optical Method of Interpolated Ellipses while the out-of plane displacement field is inspected simultaneously by the optical Coded photometric stereo method.
New Experimental Setup for Study of Physical Processes Preceding Specimen Failure
Vavřík, Daniel ; Bryscejn, Jan ; Holý, T. ; Jakůbek, J. ; Jakůbek, M. ; Valach, Jaroslav ; Vykydal, Z.
Failure of a high ductile specimen usually precedes a decrease of the loading force under the condition of displacement control in the monotonic loading. Unfortunately, the elastic energy stored in the standard loading equipment can result in sudden failure within very short time corresponding to the loading unstability. We can prolong this time interval by reducing the elastic energy in the loading equipment. The proposed new loading frame fulfils the indicated requirement and enables extraordinary precise displacement loading control even beyond the maximal loading force. Plastic deformation on a surface is investigated by the optical Method of Interpolated Ellipses and together with damage processes inside of the specimen are simultaneously observed by the X-ray Dynamic Defectoscopy method.
Experimental-numerical evaluation of the surface plastic strain evoluation
Vavřík, Daniel ; Jakůbek, J.
The subject of this work is implentation of the incremental Prager Ziegler plasticity theory for experimental results acquired by the "Method of Interpolated Ellipses" (MIE).
