Local pressure drops and the influence of preset singularities on heat transfer and pressure drop in a straight tube at the flow of surfactant solutions
Mík, Václav ; Mihálka, L. ; Kořenář, Josef ; Myška, Jiří
We measured both heat transfer along a straight circular tube of 16 mm inner diametr and the pressure loss on this tube in a hydraulic stand with a close loop. A valve and a circular bend of 180° were preset to the tube and local pressure loss on the elements was also determined. It was experimented with three different concentrations of cationic surfactant with commercial name Arquad 50 (which is Oleyltrimethylammonium chloride) and with counter ion NaSal (sodium salicylate). Experiments were done in the range of Reynolds numbers 8,000 to 100,000. The tube wall heat flux was 22 and 40 kW/m2.
Vliv poměru složek micelárních aditiv na trvanlivost roztoku a schopnost snižovat tření

The age of micellar solution influences substantially effectiveness of drag reduction in a turbulent flow in tubes. In this contribution are shown effects of both surfactant concentration and the ratio of the surfactant to the compound containing conter ion, and their role in degradation rate at aging.Experiments were made with different concentrations of cationic surfactant CTAB (Hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide) in mixture with NaSal (Sodium salycilate).

Experiments were made on a hydraulic facility with closed loop. The influence of a preset valve and circular bend 180° on the heat transfer along the 16 mm tube was investigated. Three different concentrations of cationic surfactant Arquad S 50 (oleyltrimethylammonium chloride) in mixture with NaSal (sodium salicylate) were experimented with. The range of Reynolds numbers was 8.000-100.000 and the heat flux through the tube wall was 22 and 40 kW/m2.
