Analysis of Brownfields Regeneration Occasions: Liberecký Region Example
Černík, J. ; Kunc, Josef
Brownfield is any land degenerated by it ́s previous use. Such areas (and structures in this area) may currently be vacant and it represents a barrier in future balanced development of the area and surroundings. This contribu tion targets on describing the ability of brownfields remediation by using the Principal Component Analysis of socio - economic, spatial and demographic indicators. As a study area was set up the Liberece region. From results it is clear that selected indica tors can satisfactorily describe the ability for remediation only by agricultural brownfields. Regarding to the type of analysed data we can presuppose a significant influence of soft factors on brownfield remediation. Such factors may describe the role of active participation of stakeholders, private motivating factors, inspiration in case of best practices, etc.

Krejčí, Tomáš ; Martinát, Stanislav ; Klusáček, Petr ; Tocháčková, K.
The article deals with issue of brownfields regeneration with special attention to brownfields redevelopment in tourism and leisure time activities. With connection to the theoretical discussion, there are presented the results of the field research with visit ors of the selected case study areas located on the territory pf Brno City (Czech Republic). The objective of this questionnaire survey was to identify the answer to the question how the new brownfield use in for tourism is perceived among visitors and ide ntify potential of the different types of brownfields from visitors ’ perspective. The results show the strong support for future housing utilisation, because regeneration of abandoned and neglected locations for housing needs was discussed among the visit ors the most intensively.
Inner Structure of Functionala Region: Theoretical Aspects
Erlebach, M. ; Klapka, Pavel ; Halás, M. ; Tonev, P.
The contribution addresses theoretically the inner structure of functional region. It defines types of functional regions on the basis of selected criteria regarding their inner structure. As classification criteria a number of cores in a region, their hierarchical importance and ch aracter of interaction relationships between them and within a region have been employed. A study of functional regions is not important only for geography, but also for regional and spatial science and for planning practise.
Renewable Energy and Employment in the Czech Republic
Dvořák, Petr ; Martinát, Stanislav
Development of renewable energy sources is primarily focused on environmental topics such as the climate change, or energy security and source availability. Moreover, it reflects new jobs opportunities and establishment of new economy sectors. The contribution deals with renewable energy sources and their dynamic development, which is documented by increasing number of potential jobs in this sec tor. The employment progress in main branches of “ green economy ” of the Czech Republic is analysed, and the collected data with main European trends and the main factors influencing structure of renewable energy sources in the Czech Republic are compared. The main goal of the contribution is to discuss the renewable energy sources benefits for employment and indirectly the Czech Republic competitiveness as well.
New Energy Landscape: Spatial Delimitation Based on the Location of Selected Renewable Sources (Case Study Area - Czech Republic)
Nováková, Eva
The contribution deals with the definition and the spatial delimitation of the new energy landscape which has been described in the Czech Republic only in theory yet. The primary database was created by means of GIS analyses based on combination three layers with installations producing energy from renewable sources - wind power plants, biogas plants and photovoltaic power plants with production capacity over 5MW. On the basis of this layer were spatially delimited areas of influ ence of these devices, and thus the theoretical range of the new energy landscape. The result of this study brings new knowledge about spatial distribution of new energy landscapes on the territory of the Czech Republic. The article should be starting poin t for future scientific researches and discussions, which should help not only to the improvements and modifications of the original methodology, should support the improvement of the decision - making processes associated with spatial planning at the differ ent hierarchical levels (national, regional, local).
Discussion about Energy Savings and Potential Threats of Energy Poverty at the Level of the Residental House (Case Study Lidická, Brno, Czech Republic)
Klusáček, Petr ; Krejčí, Tomáš ; Martinát, Stanislav
The contribution deals with issues of energy savings and energy poverty at the level of the residential house. The attention is focused on the process of searching of methods leading to energy savings and furthermore on the question, if some investments can create threats of energy poverty among some groups of actors. The results show that even public financial support for energy savings can cause at some conditions (rejection of financial support) serious financial problems and it can create further economic pressure on groups of actors who are potentially threatened by energy poverty.
Brownfields in Karviná: Opportunity or Threat?
Martinát, Stanislav ; Cyroňová, K. ; Dvořák, Petr ; Klusáček, Petr
Brownfields are in creasingly discussed topic among researchers and public administration representatives as well. Especially in peripheral areas and in regions affected by structural changes is an issue of brownfields due to their limited attractiveness for investments very specific. This paper aims to comment the issue of brownfields in the above type of area on the example of city of Karviná. The theoretical part of the paper discusses the economic, social and environmental aspects of brownfield regeneration. Then spatial analysis of these areas brownfields on the area studied city is Sborník p ř ísp ě vk ů X VII . mezinárodní kolokvium o regionálních v ě dách Hustope č e 18. – 20 . 6. 20 14 622 carried on from the point of view of their size, previous use, type of ownership, contamination and location within the city. The specifics of regeneration of mining brownfields are then formu lated. In the last part of the paper thematic survey conducted among the population of the city of Karviná (n = 150) is evaluated. The survey aimed to determine preferences for future use of brownfields and general perception of these areas by local popula tion.

Osman, Robert ; Frantál, Bohumil ; Kunc, Josef ; Klusáček, Petr ; Martinát, Stanislav
The paper deals with reuse of brownfields in the Czech Republic. Based on the analysis of information about re - use of residual spaces are shown major changes in the current management space. The paper is based on a comparison of two data files - specifically, the existing brownfields database managed by the CzechInvest and own database of brownfields that have a lready been revitalized. The paper is divided into three parts, the first part of the paper analyzes the structure of a revitalized brownfields, in the second part of the paper, the structure of this file is compared with the structure of existing brownfie lds and the third part analyzes the factors revitalization of brownfields. The paper aims to answer the question what functions take the brownfields after revitalization and what factors determine their reuse.
Renewable energy sources as an alternative to the new usage of brownfields
Kunc, Josef ; Klusáček, Petr ; Martinát, Stanislav ; Tonev, P.
The subject of brownfields has recently become a widely discussed issue. The number of abandoned and unused facilities in the Czech Republic is quite large, which results in a number of problems. Typical example of a revitalization is a complex demolition or renewable which would give the place in question a new function. (business, administrative, residential, free-time.). Another typical example is a revitalization of the object or the area while keeping some of its original construction and functional features. An example of an "alternative solution" is to make use of brownfields in a way that would support the development of renewable sources of energy, especially solar and wind power stations, an activity that can be observed in many countries of the world.
