Law Aspects of Corruption of Police and Courts in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis focuses on the law aspects of corruption of police and courts in the Czech Republic. Theoretical part describes historical development of corruption and how its perception has changed during the development of our society, definition of corruption and crimes which it comes from. Next part presents structure and function of governmental anti-corruption organisations - police, courts and prosecution and non-governmental organisations represented by Anti-Corruption Endowment Fund, which operates in Czech Republic since 2011. To the international anti-corruption organisations belong European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), European Partners against Corruption (EPAC) and Group of States against Corruption (GRECO). Practical part consists of analysis of data gathered from Corruption Perception Index and analysis of decisions from the Highest Court of the Czech Republic. Data from the Index show us development of corruption in the Czech Republic and other states in past 20 years, which helps us to create a good overview about the corruption situation in these states. The second half of this part analyses the corruption crime decisions of the Highest Court, especially the amount of rejected or accepted extraordinary appeals and in how many cases figure policemen and judges as the accused ones. Conclusion summarises the whole thesis and gathered knowledge.
Alternative sentences

The Bachelor's thesis deals with alternative sentences in Czech criminal law. The first part focuses on explanation of term and purpose of punishment and alternative sentences, states advantages and disadvantages of alternative sentences and overviews their application. The second part focuses on legislation of chosen kinds of alternative sentences in detail. The last part is constituted by my own research, which concerns of public awareness of alternative sentences and public opinions on them.
Inheritance law in theory and practice

Subject of the Bachelor thesis "Inheritance law in theory and practice" deals with the law of succession applicable in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part I pay attention to development of inheritance law, from Roman law to the present, after that I describe preconditions of inheritance law and its progress, including the possibility refusal of inheritance rights from the perspective of the New Civil Code. I put the emphasis on the most important changes between the former and the new Civil Code in the law of succession and on repeated implementation of some institutions. In the practical part there is analysed last will and then described the progress of the will by the notary. The practical part analyses last will and describes the process of acquisition of the will from the notary.
Ordinary legal remedies in Czech criminal procedure

This bachelor thesis deals with the ordinary legal remedies in Czech criminal procedure. In the first chapter are defined legal remedies in general, namely the history and their division into ordinary and extraordinary legal remedies. There is also the remedial procedure and its principles mentioned. The main part of my work is dedicated to ordinary legal remedies: complaint against the resolution, appeal against the judgement and protest against the criminal warrant. It's focused on the characteristics of each of these remedies and also their content and formal requirements, reasons, place and period for their filling, authorized persons and the procedures about them. The last chapter is an analysis of several court decisions, where the possibillity of filling the ordinary legal remedies was used.
Illegal possession of payment card

The present thesis is concerned with credit card fraud. Chapter one deals mainly with the history of payment cards and the first instances of credit card fraud in the world. Chapter two deals with payment card types and the criteria for distinguishing them. The thesis also focuses on payment card security features and measures, as well as identifying potential risks associated with the use of payment cards. It also provides a description of a particular skimming case, which is based on a Supreme court ruling. The subsequent analysis is concerned with skimming. The results showing the number of skimming cases in the Czech Republic are compared with the number of such cases in Germany.
Economic offences

This bachelor thesis deals with the economic offences. First four chapters define basic terms of criminal law such as criminal act, kinds of criminal acts and punishment for them according to the Criminal Code. From the fifth chapter it focuses on the economic offences. The sixth chapter goes into details through some of the economic offences on the basis of the Criminal Code and last chapter deals with analysis and statistics of the economic offences compared with the total criminal offences and informs about the worldwide research of the economic crimes made in 2014.
Legal regulation of online advertising in the Czech Republic

The thesis focuses on regulation of advertising on the Internet. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the current state and position of public regulation of online advertising, both in general and on the example of Google advertising network. The approach to achieve defined goals is to first present a theoretical overview of the legal regulation of advertising with an emphasis on online advertising, followed by a case study showing the practical functioning of online advertising rules in Google AdWords accompanied by qualitative research involving relevant representatives of the online advertising market. The conclusion is an assessment of the rules of online advertising and evaluation of the legal rules' role in relation to it.
Cybercrime

The master's thesis Cybercrime is a reaction to the increasing number of criminal activity related to the virtual space. It's main aim is to provide an overall description of this issue. Firstly the thesis presents theoretical problems regarding the definition of cybercrime. Following is an overview of international legislation and policy in the Czech Republic, EU, and USA. Second part is about two specific types of cybercrime - cyberstalking and cyberbullying. Not only are both defined theoretically, their respective participants (perpetrators, victims) and prevention are also described. Lastly the behaviour of adolescents online from the point of view of forming relationships and divulging personal information is presented.
The legal status of the Ombudsman in the Czech Republic and abroad

The thesis deals with the legal status of Ombudsman in the Czech Republic and abroad. It focuses primarily on comparison with ombudsman institutions in selected countries (France, UK, Italy, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and the European Union).The first chapter describes the basic characteristics of ombudsman institutions, their development and significance for today's society. The second chapter is analyzed in detail the legislation of the Ombudsman in the Czech Republic. The third and fourth chapter is devoted to ombudsmen abroad. The last chapter provides a comparison of individual laws in mentioned countries.
Selected economic crimes

The target of this thesis is to provide the information about the economic crime and to map the Czech legislation of chosen economic crimes. The first part deals with the concepts such as economic criminality, financial criminality and economic crimes. The second part is dedicated to the crime from the perspective of substantive law, clarifies some of the basic principles of Czech criminal law and analyses the merits of the offense in general terms. The third part is concerned with the characteristics of chosen economic crimes, gives examples from practice mediated by jurisprudence of the High Court and offers the basic statistic reviews of committed crimes from 2009 -- 2013.
