Analysis of the effectiveness of the photocatalytic effect in surface treatments
Holubová, Petra ; Žák, Antonín (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
The thesis deals with the possible use of the photocatalytic effect in construction practice. Surfaces with this type of treatment have the ability of a so-called self-cleaning effect. Based on the research, the basic principles of the evaluation of photocatalytic substances and its possible applications were written down. Furthermore, the issue of staining facade plasters was outlined. The goal was to analyze the effectiveness of the photocatalytic effect in surface treatments. A photocatalyst of two types (anatase and rutile) and two rounds (2% and 5%) was added to the plaster mix. Next, the samples were contaminated with dyes and dust particles, and then the samples were placed in the QUV tester or exposed to outdoor climatic conditions. The photoactivity of individual plaster mixtures was evaluated on the samples based on color changes during testing. Plaster with TiO2 in the form of anatas dosed in 5%, according to a modified evaluation based on UNI 11259 and JIS 1703-2:2007 standards, photocatalytic properties, and thus a self cleaning process occurred.
The development of a method for evaluation of the green roofs' retention capacity
Herůfek, Marek ; Hejduk,, Stanislav (referee) ; Žák, Antonín (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the development of methods for evaluating retention features of green roofs. For the purpose of this thesis, a rainfall simulator was designed and various types of precipitation were examined. The thesis is divided into two main parts: a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, the importance of water retention on green roofs is discussed. In addition, a physical theory related to this topic is included and various rainfall simulators used for scientific experiments in the Czech Republic and abroad are described. The practical part deals with the measurement of droplet size and rainfall simulator design. In this part, the process of measuring the flow and the intensity of rainfall by using scales, flow meter and rain gauge is described. For this purpose, a datalogger was developed by the Faculty of Eletrical Engineering in Brno. Finally, the results are sumarized and recommendations on how to conduct the research in the future are provided.
Analysis of effect of solar radiation concentration on the thermal insulation degradation in the flat roof construction
Židek, Ondřej ; Běžel, Jakub (referee) ; Žák, Antonín (advisor)
The master´s thesis analyzes influence of direct and reflected solar radiation to heat strain and degradation of thermal insulation in the flat roof construction. In many building was a problem in a significant degradation of thermal insulation made from expanded polystyrene in the vicinity of glass surfaces. To determine the causes of this problem, it was necessary to study and test the properties of building materials and the physical nature of the effect of solar radiation on the building structure. In the introductory section lists the cases of buildings with degradation of thermal insulation and existing knowledge on this issue. The theoretical part describes the technical properties of thermal insulating materials used in the flat roof construction, nature and division of solar radiation, optical laws of light reflection and physical theory to explain the technical thermal behavior of building materials and structures. The last part describes a practical model and analyzing measured data in thermal stress in the flat roof construction. The practical part also determines the importance of different influences configuration structures using to dynamic simulations. At the end of the practical part they are validated theoretical knowledge obtained by analyzing data from a practical model.
Optimization of methods for determining the durability of wood coating systems
Škvařil, Michael ; Žák, Antonín (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the optimization of methods for determining the durability of wood coating systems. The theoretical part deals with a detailed analysis of wood coating systems, including the specification of their composition, especially with a focus on modern water-borne coating systems. In the practical part an experiment was carried out, where on the selected types of coatings applied to lumber was performed analysis of selected durability parameters of coatings after exposure to short-term and long-term exposure to degradation factors
Hygrothermal analysis of massive wooden structures
Uherka, Pavel ; Šuhajda, Karel (referee) ; Žák, Antonín (advisor)
This thesis deals with massive wooden buildings especially with regard to the current approach to their design, assessment and approval. In this thesis are shown future possibilities of development of traditional wooden buildings with regard to current thermal technical requirements. Theoretical considerations are then compared with measurements which were performed on massive wooden wall samples.
Evaluation of methods for determining an air humidity in building constructions
Nogová, Tereza ; Šuhajda, Karel (referee) ; Žák, Antonín (advisor)
This thesis compares the methods for the determination of air and moisture condensation in the construction. There are descriptions of the various methods and formulas for measuring humidity and methods for the calculation of condensation in building structures. The practical part describes the development of a method for verifying the condensation of moisture in construction. Parts of this work are the materials and methods for the development of the humidity sensor. There were used two methods – capacitive and resistive for measuring moisture condensation. In the conclusion is the evaluation of the humidity sensor and compares the results of individual measurements.
Analysis of humid air transport in the building envelope
Tománek, Jan ; Kupsa, Tomáš (referee) ; Žák, Antonín (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of temperature and humidity in the construction of flat roofs with influence even without influence of solar radiation. It was necessary to study and verify the properties of building materials, the physical nature of the influence of solar radiation on building structures and the transport mechanisms of moisture. The theoretical part describes the basic physical theory on solved problems, the essence and division of solar radiation, the description of thermal moisture properties of building materials and the calculation method of determination of moisture in structures according to valid standards. Practical part deals with description of work in software DEKSOFT - Thermal technology 1D and WUFI 2D software, description of individual models and analysis of achieved results. At the end of the practical part the achieved theoretical knowledge is validated by analyzing the obtained data from the practical model.
Lightweight building envelope analysis in terms of thermal stability in summer
Hofman, Petr ; Meixner,, Miloslav (referee) ; Žák, Antonín (advisor)
The master’s thesis analyzes different methods of comparing structures in terms of thermal stability in summer. An important part is the evaluation of the results accuracy and computational models of these methods. In conclusion it describes the influence of building envelope on the thermal stability of the internal environment in the summer, which are important design parameters and how to optimize the design of wall.
Determination durability of modular panel elements in different exposures
Škvařil, Michael ; Žák, Antonín (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
Within the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, a list of the main types of accelerated tests designed for the resistance of metal and polymer surface finishes. In the experimental part of diploma thesis, the rate of biological resistance of wood-based board materials is evaluated. Furthermore, the resistance of coating systems is assessed by means of accelerated tests. Resistance of modular building shells is primarily focused on degradation of coatings applied primarily on metal materials and wood materials. The tested coating systems analyze the influence of the materials and chemical base on the final weather resistance.
