Kasinová, Barbora ; Švermová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Nečasová, Pavla (referee)
During the 19th century German language teaching as a foreaing language was significantly changing related to the development of education and the promotion of Czech language as the main teaching language at Czech schools. German language became optional foreign language even though there was a large number of pupils interested in learning German. German was offical language until the estabilishment of an independent Czechoslovak Republic also in Czech lands. In the introduction I focus on the organizational structure of the Czech education system in the Austria-Hungary monarchy between 1869 and 1918. Secondary vocational education was mostly changing and developing at this time, real gymnasiums and various specialization vocational schools were formed. I pay attention to teachers and their education too, since without good teachers there is no chance to have high quality education. The main focus of my work is an overview of the development of teaching methods of modern foreign languages. Development of methods is described chronologically from 17th century and in more detail in 19th century, when the most methods were invented. Instead of Grammar translation method, which was the standard in the teaching of foreaign languages for a very long time, new so called reform methods started to became...

Žáčková, Martina ; Švermová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Nečasová, Pavla (referee)
The aim of this thesis is the testing of a new conceptual approach to the teaching of the technical German language in practice to the students of technical German at SAU (Skoda Auto University). The goal of the introductory part is creating a theoretical basis for the creation of an educational concept in the teaching of technical foreign languages: the main aspects of the teaching process, the theory of lessons of the technical language, and the linguistic problems during the learning process of the German technical language. The practical part contains the results and conclusions of empirical research that analyzed the need of emerging graduates to practice the language skills and the rights of the students of SAU to the teaching materials in terms of the motivational process of learning a foreign language. In both cases the research was carried out using questionnaires. After summarizing all input with regards to the issue in question, a new concept of teaching technical German, which is supported by forming two teaching materials, is outlined and verified in practice. Three basic hypotheses are stated at the beginning of this thesis. The first one--is it possible to functionally merge the theoretical teaching of the technical language with professional skills needed in practice? The second...

Title: Simultaneous and sequential adoption of another language in the early phase (german language) Author: Mgr. et Bc. Jana Ramešová Department: Department of German Studies Supervisor: PaedDr. Dagmar Švermová Abstract The subject of examination of this rigorous work is the phenomenon of bilingualism. It particularly examines the early phase of adoption of another language. In the theoretical part, two forms of bilingualism are broken down in detail, and these differ from each other based on the criteria of the period when the additional language was adopted. Simultaneous bilingualism means adoption of a mother tongue and an additional language at the same time. The term sequential bilingualism is used to describe subsequent adoption of another language, which occurs after a mother tongue is adopted. Both of these forms are processed from the point of view of the scientific disciplines of psychology, pedagogy, psycholinguistics and neurobiology. Attention is focused on comparing both types of adoption of another language. The aim is to create a theoretical basis for the entire process, which occurs at pre- school and young school ages. The empirical part describes research regarding children who are located in or have just been through the early phases of sequential adoption of another language during...
