Impact of increased temporal detail in long-term dynamic energy system model with an increasing share of volatile renewable energy sources

Long-term energy systems often simplify temporal detail resolution. However, this simplification is not appropriate for systems with an increasing share of intermittent renewable energy sources (IRES). The low temporal resolution causes a systemic bias in the model's outputs. The model overpredicts the share of the IRES on the total generation. This entails an underprediction of the total system costs, underprediction of the amount of greenhouse gas emissions and a bias in the energy mix. This could lead to an ill-informed energy policy and eventually cause a failure in the decarbonization of the energy sector. This thesis increases the temporal resolution of the TIMES-CZ model from 12 seasonal times slices and 3 daynite time slices to 24 daynite time slices and compares 8 scenarios with 1, 4 and 12 seasonal time slices. This thesis compares three representative days selection methods - simple heuristics, hierarchical clustering centroid selection method and historical day closest to the centroid selection method. The electricity generation of IRES and the total production in base year (2012) is the most accurately approximated by the 12 seasonal time slices selected by the hierarchical clustering centroid method.

Prevention of social deviation in the educational care centre in Pilsen

This diploma work subject is working of the educational care centres and their possibilities of social deviation prevention; it is especially interested in working in the educational care centre in Pil sen. In the theoretical part basic ideas are characterised, the prevention and its kinds and standard s are defined in the second chapter. The system of taking care of persons with behaviour disorders in the Czech Republic is told about. The educational care centres as institutions, their customers, diagnoses and pedagogical documentation are described in the following chapters. The second part of this diploma work is practical and the special attention is paid to the educational care centre in Pilsen, its structure, educational activities and organizing care of the customers living in the boarding-house (school hostel). The therapy in the educational care centre in Pilsen is described in the last chapter.

Strategie prevence vzniku a třídění využitelných složek komunálního odpadu na obecní úrovni a formování trhu s vytříděnými surovinami v České republice

Cílem projektu je návrh nástroje politiky nakládání s komunálními odpady podporující prevenci vzniku a třídění využitelných složek komunálního odpadu a analýza odbytu vytříděných surovin na trhu. V roce 2007 byly zpracovány následující výstupy: internetový portál projektu a komunikační prostředí, analýza odpadových toků a právní rámec trhu s druhotnými surovinami, analýza absorpční kapacity trhu s druhotnými surovinami (překážky v působení zpracovatelských zařízení na trhu druhotných surovin), analýza vlastnické struktury zpracovatelských zařízení, analýza překážek v působení na trhu u zpracovatelských zařízení a svozových firem.
