Parental separation and awarding custody of pre-school aged child

This thesis focuses on the topic of parental separation and awarding custody of pre-school and early-school aged children. In the theoretical part the specifics of each developmental stage and also of the mother's and father's role are described. In the following chapter the thesis focuses on the process of parental separation, its phases, causes and its influence on children. Also the most typical phenomenons and risks connected with this complicated situation are mentioned. Not to be forgotten, the legal side of the process is also included. The thesis contains empirical part, in which structured interviews with social workers were led, in order to map current trends, the most serious risks, the possibilities of different forms of custody and the role of psychologists in parental separation in the Czech environment. Personal assistance in supported living for people with learning disability

The main topíc of this thesis is assistance in supported living for people with mental retardation. The theoretical part of this essay defines these concepts in the context of the new trends in the care for people with mental retardation. Then we focus on persona! assistent himself; we describe his personality, demands on his professional skills and his approach towards the clients. Then there are introduced some psychological aspects of assistance. We pay attention on motives for this helping profession, on burn-out syndrom and ethical aspects of assistanť s work. The aim of the practical part is to explore the current situation in assistance in Czech republic. The goal of my investigation was to find out using mainly qualitative research methods, who is the typical assistant in supprorted living, why did he choose his profession and how does he experience his work. The results pointed out, that there is a large specific group of young women working in this profession as well the lack of other age groups of assistants and the lack male assistants. The most frequented motives for assistance are the posibility of using the skills obtained by previous education and experience, the meaningfullness of this work and the wish to provide high quality service for mentally handicaped people. Home preparation for school of child in the early school age

This thesis engages in the theme of early school-age pupil's home preparation for school particularly in collaboration between school, parents and child in the process of home preparation. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the relationship between adults and children in history. Hereafter we occupy with the child's socialization and evolutional aspects in preschool and younger school-age. We engage in the child's school entrance, school education and younger school-age children's home preparation from the view of the collaboration between the school, the family and the child in next chapters. The empirical part we address the attitudes of children and their parents to home preparation and the parent involvement in the home preparation in the first and second class. We are the most interested in the difference or the agreement in the given issue by the pupils of the first and second classes. The research is qualitative-quantitative composed. Syndrome CAN - expressed behaviour of physically abused children

This thesis is discussing manners of behaviour of children exposed to physical abuse. Theoretical part deals with characterization of syndrome CAN and its forms, causes and risk factors of physical abuse development in family and possible psychological manifestations of effects on child. The goal of empirical part was to perceive strong markers of behavior of physically abused children according to age and gender. Through method of content analysis of complete documentation of 25 physical abused children placed in diagnostic institution, acts of behaviour, personal characteristics, peer relations, relationsip to adults, parents and themselves were explored.
Experience of foster care from the perspective of foster care

The diploma thesis focuses on aspects that affect the process of adopting a child in foster care from the perspective of foster parents experience. The work is divided into two parts. In the first part, we present theoretical background of the topic and define basic terms. We study factors affecting foster care and describe the process of formation and progress of foster care. The aim of the second - practical - part is to use qualitative research to analyze the process of adopting a child in foster care. In addition to presenting result of our research, we are also try to enrich current theories on the matter. We suggest ways how to use the acquired knowledge in practice and give impetus for further research in the field of foster care.

MATOUŠKOVÁ, Lenka. Psychological Aspects of the Father-Daughter Relationship. Prague: The Faculty of Arts of Charles University, 2012. 259 pgs. The final thesis. The title of this work is "Psychological Aspects of Father-Daughter Relationship". In its theoretical part it summarizes mainly Czech, but also some foreign, contributions related to the topic of fatherhood, the specifics of paternal behavior and the importance of a functional father for the psychological development of girls. The issue is also viewed from the perspective of possible negative impacts on the psychological development of women who grew up without their fathers. The analysis is primarily focused on their problems with self- esteem, self-confidence and self-image, identity, emotions and emotional life but also on difficulties in future partner and intimate relationships. The theoretical part, with regard to the research, also discusses the concept of risk and protective factors. It respects the current trend of leaving aside pathogenic and shifting towards salutogenic factors, so it focuses mainly on mapping the protective factors in the psychological development of girls who grew up without their fathers while not excluding the risk factors. This Diploma Thesis is dealing with Roman Catholic divinity students in the Czech Republic. This research is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part includes four chapters. The first chapter contains from description of the catholic priesthoods and the place of priesthoods in the Roman Catholic Church in the Czech Republic, missions of priests and some problematical aspects of their life - i.e. the celibacy, insured identity of priests etc. In this chapter I tried to introduce the priesthood as a profession, I described some of their basic activities, tasks and conditions for their services.
Child anxiety and its manifestations in drawing a tree

This diploma work is intent on the mapping of child anxiety probléme and its possibly manifestations in drawing a tree. Introductory chapters deal with basic definition of anxiety, symptoms and biological basis of anxiety. The description of an..xicty cvolution during scparate age periods follow, including brief charak'terizations of separate anxiety disorders, considering speciťic child anxiety disordcrs. In conncction thcrc is signification of child drawing and its contribution to diagnostics mentioned. At the end of theoretical part there is a high consideration on description of chosen method, i.e. the test of drawing a tree. Practical part of this diploma work is devoted this sfere. I intent on exploitation drawing a tree as possible screening method for detection of specific marks, which could enable us find the presence of anxiety out.
The diagnosis of school maturity in relation to the pupil's adaptation to the 1st year of primary school

The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the determination of the development characteristics of the period from the age of three to eight (i.e. pre-school and younger school age). The principal focus is on the issue of school maturity, the possibilities of its diagnosis and the pupils' adaptation to the first year of primary school. The empirical part introduces a quantitative research focused on some diagnostic methods (the Orientation Test of School Maturity - Orientační test školní zralosti, the Knowledge Test of Pre-school Children - Zkouška znalostí předškolních dětí and The Star - Wave Test) and the possibility of using these methods for predicting a child's adaptation to the first year of primary school. The thesis aims to examine how these methods could be used and also to show the possible limits related to using these methods.
