The evaluation system for educational projects within EU grants
Růžanská, Hana ; Reichel, Jiří (advisor) ; Štěch, Josef (referee)
My diploma work concerns the evaluation of educational projects submitted for financial support from European funds. It includes the description of related processes and highlights the importance of financial support for education, benefiting the growth of society. The aim of this submission is to align the processes of specialists in the field of human resources development focused on evaluation of submitted projects. The results of their evaluations have great influence in the selection of valuable educational projects which are to be receive financial support and the chance to be realized. To this end, the quality of the evaluation process has a direct effect on the realization of the right quality of development human resources in the Czech Republic. I have chosen this topic of my diploma work due to the topicality and importance to support the whole society through the development of human resources. My diploma work systematically summarize all aspects of the mentioned process and helps to clarify the way how to realize projects under the current conditions.
Problematika rozvoje elektromobility vozidel kategorie M1 v České republice
ŠTĚCH, Jiří
This work is about problems connected with electromobility. It deals with the development and operation of electric vehicles. In this thesis there are explained the basic concepts during it's historical development to the present. The main focus of the thesis is the determination of the factors that are linked to the development and operation of electric vehicles in the Czech Republic, such as the readiness of the distribution network, transport infrastructure and suitable facilities of charging stations. It deals with the issue of what electromobility involves and what are the main reasons and visions for the complete replacement of electromobiles by combustion engines. The first part of this work describes the historical development of electromobility, from it's beginning until the present time, when electromobility is the main motoristic theme for the sustainable development of car traffic. The second part describes the complete construction of electric vehicles and its advantages. Furthermore, the current state of electromobility in the Czech Republic and the assumption of it's future development. The final, third part is practical. There are described the individual tested electric cars in terms of utility value for the end consumer and energy intensity. The measured values show a comparison of the tested vehicles.
Heuristics in blind source separation
Kautský, Václav ; Štěch, Jakub
This paper deals with application of heuristic algorithms (DEBR, MCRS) in blind source separation (BSS). BSS methods focus on a separation of the (source) signal from a linear mixture. The idea of using heuristic algorithms is introduced on the independent component extraction (ICE) model. The motivation for considering heuristics is to obtain an initial guess needed by many ICE algorithms. Moreover, the comparison of this initialization, and other algorithms accuracy is performed.\n

Lazy Learning of Environment Model from the Past
Štěch, J. ; Guy, Tatiana Valentine ; Pálková, B. ; Kárný, Miroslav
The paper addresses a lazy learning (LL) approach to decision making (DM) problem described in fully probabilistic way. The key idea of LL is to simplify the actual DM problem by using past DM problems similar to the current one. The approach can decrease computation complexity and increase quality of learning when no rich alternative information available. The proposed LL approach helps to learn the environment model based on a proximity of the past and current DM problem with Kullback-Leibler divergence serving as a proximity measure. The implemented algorithm is verified on the real data. The results show that the proposed approach improves prediction quality.
