Reformational Iconography of Book Bindings of Catholic Liturgical Literature in Bohemia

This thesis is focused mainly on reformational iconography used on the book bindings of catholical missales and breviaries in Bohemia until the first half of the 16th century. The theoretical part of thesis analyzes czech renaissance bookbinding during this era and use of reformational iconography on blind - stamped book bindings. The practical part of thesis answers the question whether the bookbinding of catholical missales and breviaries of this time carried any reformational iconography and was used by Utraquists during their masses. Rubbings of examined books were created during the writing. The research showed that the reformational iconography preserved on mentioned types of liturgical books only in one rare case.
Book culture at the time of the Hussite Revolution (1419-1437)

This bachelor thesis summarizes the knowledge about the bookculture at the time of the Hussite Revolution (1419-1437) based on the study of existing literature. The first part concisely introduces the historical context, the second part is focused on the transformation of literary genre during the Hussite times and also on the material aspect of the book. The analytic second part is focused on the connection the material aspect of the book with the literary genre. The thesis is also based on the comparison of the group of specific codices particularly in their codicological and paleographic aspects.
