Case study of a patient with hemorrhagic stroke in cerebellum
Alharthi, Faisal Fahad M ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Smejkal, Petr (referee)
Physiotherapeutic case study of hemorrhagic stroke in the cerebellum with hemiplegia patient as bachelor thesis is provided for you to show the full kiensiological assessment, special therapy approaches and therapy effect during 9 sessions. The farther goal of this thesis is to explain the clinical picture, physiological, biomechanics points of view. During my clinical practice, we used the main structure for the Kinesiological assessment according to the Prague School approaches. Manual muscle testing according to Kendall and Janda were used also. Due to the instructions and the protocols from the UVN hospital in Prague the main therapy concept was following " Grasies Concept" for stroke patients. Finally, we applied final kinesiological assessment to compare the patient situation before and after the therapy with focusing on the "Grasies Concept" effect. As a result of our work we found that the "Gracies concept" shows a great result in spastic pattern prevention more on the lower extremity. However, significant improvement in patient stability and verticalization ability which influence the improvement in ADL scale results. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Role of Experiments in Chemical Education at Waldorf Lyceum Compared to "Ordinary" Gymnasium in the Czech Republic
Studničková, Zuzana ; Šmejkal, Petr (advisor) ; Stratilová Urválková, Eva (referee)
4 Abstract This bachelor thesis examines the role of experiments in Chemistry lessons at Waldorf schools and roughly compares the approach towards their implementation into lessons at Waldorf schools and selected secondary schools (gymnasia) in the Czech Republic. The first part is dedicated to the description of Waldorf school specifics. The second part gives results of a general survey focused on the ways of use and frequency of experiments at selected secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Results of this survey and visits to laboratory practicals at one high school were confronted and discussed in contrast with results of inspections of classes at two Waldorf schools; Waldorf Lyceum in Prague and Primary and Secondary Waldorf School in Semily. Approaches to experiments at both types of schools are compared and arguments for and against are given. On the whole we can say that Waldorf schools take experiments (demonstrations) as an integral part of every Chemistry lesson and are essential for Chemistry education. However laboratory practicals are rare and the amount of information in lessons is smaller than at ordinary secondary schools observed. On the contrary, at ordinary secondary schools, demonstrations are less common and very often experiments are not included in Chemistry lessons, but separated...
Setting up educational materials for the topic Chemistry around us
Štefková, Ivona ; Šmejkal, Petr (advisor) ; Smrček, Stanislav (referee) ; Richtr, Václav (referee)
This dissertation deals with the creation of educational materials to topics from the field Chemistry around us and circumstances of its implementation into teaching chemistry with regard to the needs posed by curricular documents. The connection between real world and the content of the chemistry subject, which is taught at schools, is shown on the curricular topics related to medicinal chemistry and to fertilizer chemistry. This could make the student getting a better overview of the subject itself. Regarding the specialist and didactical part, the teaching material tries to make it easier for the teacher to prepare for the lessons and make them more interesting due to the teaching material's variability and processing (teaching text, powerpoint presentations, plays, laboratory exercises etc.). This way, the student gains access to practical topics through various types of exercises, interesting aspects, plays etc. The evaluation of educational materials and investigation of student's and teacher's attitude was carried out via a questionnaire investigation. The investigation showed that both students and teachers regard these topics as beneficial and belonging to the field of chemistry. The medicinal topics were approached by the girls better than by the boys, which was not the case of the...

Safety and risks in high school laboratory
Souček, Vlastimil ; Šmejkal, Petr (advisor) ; Teplý, Pavel (referee)
Czech Law concerning work safety in high school laboratory in the Czech Republic is constantly changing, while these changes in the law might go unnoticed by high school teachers. These teachers are often not informed which law is currently in effect and if it has any impact on their teaching in chemical laboratories. Therefore, this work presents compiled laws that influence teaching in chemical laboratories, translates their meaning into comprehensible sentences and then puts them together to a summary of these laws. To keep this information up to date, a basic web design is included in this work that will be put on web www.studiumchemie.cz, where it will be actualized by author of this thesis. On this web high school teachers will have the opportunity to easily access both original formulations and translated meaning of the law. Basic instructions for first aid in chemical laboratories, especially concerning exposition to dangerous chemical compounds will also be included in this work. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Langerová, Veronika ; Šmejkal, Petr (advisor) ; Nováková, Lucie (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the design and preparation of a new educational material focused on the theme of "Quantities and calculations in chemistry" as expressed in RVP-G (Framework educational programme for secondary general education). The form of the presentation of the educational material was designed in context of motivation of students. Hence, the specific presentation was chosen - the website supplemented with pictures, videos and flash animations. As the connecting component and motivation element, the magician Chemulín solving chemical and other related (common life) problems of citizens of fairytale village was chosen. The main goal of this approach is better motivation of students to learn and process information. The thesis also include the circumscription of concepts of the theme "Quantities and calculations in chemistry" as specified by the RVP-G and other curricular documents in the Czech Republic. With due regard for these documents, the qualitative evaluation of the selected educational materials both in the Czech and English languages related to the mentioned theme was accomplished. The findings of the qualitative evaluation showed the insufficiency and incompleteness of the majority of the selected sources, mainly with regard to Framework Educational Programme for secondary...
