Transmission Electron Microscopy of Al-Mg Aluminium Alloys with Addition of Sc and Zr

Abstract. The microstructure and its evolution during isochronal annealing of a twin roll cast Al-3.2Mg-0.19Sc-0.14Zr (wt.%) alloy was investigated by light optical microscopy and electron microscopy. Two procedures - equal channel an- gular pressing and annealing at 300 řC for 8 h were applied to enhance mechanical properties of the alloy. The annealing led to the precipitation of a fine dispersion of Al3(Sc,Zr) particles providing an increase of ∼20 HV in the Vickers microhard- ness. Equal channel angular pressing refined significantly the microstructure and raised the microhardness by about 30 HV. Applying of the 300 řC / 8 h both before and after equal channel angular pressing did not induce further strength- ening. However, the precipitation of the Al3(Sc,Zr) phase had a stabilizing effect when the material was exposed to the subsequent isochronal annealing. 1
Analysis of twin-roll cast aluminium-steel clad strips

The microstructure, diffusion and phase transformations in aluminum-steel clad sheet were studied within the thesis by means of light optical microscopy, electron microscopy, resistometry and positron annihilation spectroscopy. Results of experimental methods were supplemented by finite element method employed for evaluation of electrical resistivity and simulation of diffusion between steel and aluminum. Several annealing experiments were carried out. The effective interdiffusion coefficient was evaluated by Boltzmann-Matano method from measured concentration profiles through the interface. Formation of an interfacial intermetallic phase was studied and orthorhombic phases Al13Fe4 and Al5Fe2 were identified present in the layer. Surprising results were obtained from the in-situ annealing in TEM (SEM) which go against the results found in a recent literature - the interfacial layer grows towards steel layer.

Typology of space in narrative texts

This thesis is thematically focused on narrative space cathegory, covering it immediately from several possible angles of literary science interest. At first, the thesis shortly focuses on description of possible perspectives, by whose optics it is possible to approach this cathegory, and afterwards it plunges into the piece morphology and searches various ways of space imaging in the literary text. This problematic is covered in the second chapter, whose individual sub-chapters devote to comparison of imaging of related narrative space and time cathegories, description as one of the basic space performance techniques in the language arts and various methods of its presentation. Not least, they offer a global model of fictional narrative world structure, originating from the standpoint of the literal theorist Gabriel Zoran. In the third chapter, we free ourselves from internal relations, based on which the space in narrative texts is arranged, and we follow up options, this cathegory can offer to us, provided, we approach it as a thematically key (and thus, interpretively relevant as well) narrative element. Here, we define the term of theme, archetype and topoi and furthermore, we regard the corresponding cathegory from the points of view of space poetics (or place poetics). Thus, we devote to several representatives of fictional world and their forms and roles, they could take within the frame of the final text interpretation. We apply the achieved findings to specific pieces of the Czech literature throughout the entire thesis, whereby we acquire a more visual idea of otherwise abstract theoretical considerations and theses.
