Energy systems of an energy-saving family house
Stanislavová, Sára ; Blasinski, Petr (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a forced ventilation system for a family house at the implementation documentation level. Furthermore, it includes the design of underfloor heating/cooling and a multisplit cooling system. The heat source is proposed to be a ground source heat pump, which extracts heat using ground boreholes. As part of the Student Research Activity, a study was conducted during the heating system design to maximize the performance of underfloor heating through numerical simulation. The theoretical part focuses on heat pumps, specifically the ground source type.
Optimization of Thermally Activated Building Structures
Oravec, Jakub ; Kalousek, Miloš (referee) ; Čekon, Miroslav (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
The thesis deals with the modelling, analysis and optimization of thermally activated foundation piles using the in-house developed numerical software Epile. A sensitivity analysis of short energy piles was performed and a deep regression neural model was developed to predict the energy gain of the pile. A Bayesian optimization method was implemented to find the optimal parameters of the energy piles in order to maximize the financial and energy gain.
Mould Risk on Wall Surface in Partly Underground Technical Room
Nováková, Iva ; Šikula, Ondřej
This conference article aims at the indoor climate in the technical room of an underground water reservoir. This indoor climate is specific by high relative humidity (average 75.2% r.h.) and low air temperature (average 13.6 °C). Therefore, this research study focuses on surface condensation and mould risk on the partly underground wall in the technical room. The experimental research combines long-term monitoring (22 months). Long-term of indoor climate and thermal numerical simulation. The experimental measurement shows condensation risk on the indoor wall surface, and the unsteady 2D numerical simulation in software Calculation Area 4.0e shows temperature fluctuation on indoor wall surfaces. Finally, the empirical VVT model predicts mould risk on the indoor wall surface for the over-terrain part in autumn and summer for the under-terrain part.
Validation of Selected Software in Terms of Air Age Simulation
Kučírek, Pavel ; Šikula, Ondřej
The paper pertains to the assessment of indoor air quality in terms of its air age in a ventilated space. It involves a comparison of Computational Fluid Dynamics (hereinafter CFD) simulation software and their validation by an experiment carried out in a test chamber. A total of 14 cases were simulated and compared using the software: OpenFOAM, Blue CFD-AIR, DesignBuilder, and Ansys. The aim is to evaluate the accuracy and usability of the software by comparing selected computational domains and meshes. The results obtained show that the assessed software achieves satisfactory accuracy for air velocities and air ages. Models with simplified inlet geometry and half-domain offer the best balance between accuracy and computational effort.
AIR-CONDITIONING OF STORAGE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SPACES
Buchta, Jan ; Formánek, Marian (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with air-conditioning and system of chilling for two-floor ad-ministrative and storage part of storage hall. The goal is to design air-conditioning sys-tems and to ensure optimal indoor microclimate. The theoretical part compares three systems of combinated air-conditioning. The result is the choice of optimal combinated systems for administrative zone of solved part of building.solved part of building.
Night Cooling in Condition of Czech Republic
Šíma, Jiří ; Katunský,, Dušan (referee) ; Plášek, Josef (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
The PhD thesis deals with the theoretical evaluation of the potential use of night cooling techniques in condition of the Czech Republic. Mainly aims to evaluate the potential of night cooling, which uses the physical phenomenon of radiation against the night sky. This technique is widely used mainly in the dry and hot regions where there are the most suitable climatic conditions for this cooling method. The work is based on the current state of knowledge in the area of passive and low-energy cooling systems. These knowledges are applied to the conditions of Czech Republic and by using simulations of the energy, behaviour of the buildings explores the benefits in terms of improving of the internal microclimate and from the perspective of economy operation of conventional cooling equipment. In order to establish the benefits of night cooling on the operation of the building in the dynamically changing conditions, the modular simulation program TRNSYS was used, which is suitable for the analysis of energy systems of buildings and their behaviour. The results of simulation results were converted to thermal comfort parameters of the PMV and the PPD.
The Suction Air-Conditioning Equipment
Wernerová, Pavla ; Gebauer, Günter (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
The Master´s Thesis is dwelling on air flowing in kitchen space of a family house. The work points at the comparison and the evaluation of the results, which were obtained from an experiment in a real object and a simulation in right software.
Analysis and optimization of thermal behavior of buildings
Nováková, Iva ; Gebauer, Günter (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis with research of efficiency of renewable and low-potential energy sources of buildings. It is available on numerical simulations for sharing office and heating and cooling system buildings in DesignBuilder. There are various energy sources and ways of controlling heating and cooling. The results are evaluated in terms of time, after the expected compromises in the building, in terms of energy consumption and its price.
Cooling systems and their management in office settings
Kotásek, Petr ; Šikula, Ondřej (referee) ; Formánek, Marian (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the cooling systems of office spaces. The theoretical part focuses on the principle of operation of commonly used cooling systems and the possibility of cold production. This work describes the advantages and disadvantages of each system. The result of the calculation is design of optimal cooling system for the office building, which secures the removing of the heat load in the summer.
Optimising the use of solar energy in the family house
Letochová, Jana ; Gebauer, Günter (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis is focused on solar energy as an alternative sustainable energy source and its use in family homes. The first part focuses on possible connections of solar energy systems and their design using software simulations. The second part consists of a design for the preparation of hot water in the family home. Finally, a comparison of the efficiency of the set collector according to different calculation methods is included.
