Association of penitentiary and postpenitentiary services: reasons for constitution and suggestion of its activities

Oblast trestní justice a výkonu trestu je tradičně doménou státu. V nestátní neziskové sféře nicméně působí množství organizací, které taktéž orientují své aktivity n a obviněné, odsouzené nebo propuštěné lidi nebo jejich blízké. Počet poskytovatelů služeb pro tuto cílovou skupinu ještě narost v souvislosti s nešvarem existujícím v jejich fundraisingové praxi přizpůsobovat pod vlivem finanční nejistoty zaměření své činnosti aktuálně vypisovaným výzvám dotačních program ů (zde m ám n a mysli zejména dotace z ESF). Podmínky ve sféře pomoci lidem v konfliktu se zákonem 1 komplikuje také to, že přesahuje do dvou resortů - M inisterstva spravedlnosti a M inisterstva práce a sociálních věcí. V reakci na tuto poněkud nepřehlednou a pro jednotlivé subjekty kom unikačně náročnou situaci byla v listopadu 2006 z iniciativy několika NNO založena Asociace poskytovatelů penitenciárních a postpenitenciárních služeb (dále APPPS), o.s. Měla jsem příležitost být jejím u vzniku přítom na a přispět k něm u. Tato m á dosud trvající zaangažovanost mě podnítila k zájmu hlouběji pochopit spletité poměry panující v současné penitenciární a postpenitenciární oblasti. Úvahy o budoucnosti APPPS, n a jejímž utváření se jakožto členka výkonného výboru asociace spolupodílím, mě inspirovaly k napsání této práce.

Integration of immigrants from Arabic countries settled in Prague for the long term or permanently

In my thesis I summed up the basic theoretical and practical knowledge about adaptation/integration of immigrants, integration policy and social work in the process of integration od immigrants, which i took from actual professional literature. I was also engaged in the influence of arabic-islamic factors in the integration process and actual situation of islam in the Czech society. I came out of the presumption, that the members of the target group can be negatively influented by unfair attitudes of majority and media, which usually come from the lack of information and can have specific needs and problems, on which it is necessary to react in an adequate way. By controlled structured interviews I realized pilot study into the target group, with the goal to gain information, useful for other researches and to consult the integration history of individuals, focusing on their specific needs in process of integration and forms and measure of their satisfaction and to indicate other possible fields of creation and application of integration arrangements, connected with the utilization or creation of capacities from both the side of majority society and immigrants theirselves. Means of subsistence of Roma women from socially excluded locations in Liberec

The thesis deals with the issue of social exclusion and unemployment in general including its causes and consequences in relation to Roma women. In detail it focuses on various aspects of their lifestyle including its traditional forms as well as current lifestyle varieties. The aim of the thesis is to search for answers to the key question which strategies do Roma women utilise in socially excluded locations in order to obtain means for their subsistence and what are the roots of these strategies. The introductory part deals with theoretical background of the area - i.e. the concept of social exclusion, unemployment, the position of Roma people in the Czech society and their subsistence strategies. The empirical part presents the results of qualitative research as well as the interpretation of these results. It analyses the subsistence strategies of Roma women and points out certain shortcomings in their employment, access to illicit employment and dependence on social benefits.

The issue of women independent migration, and their their individual choice to do so, has been approached by migration studies only since the 1970s. This master's thesis focuses on the migration and gender aspect of social networks. Through research carried out within a gender specific formal social network (the Multicultural women group organised by a migrant integration oriented non-profit organisation addressing especially migrant women) this dissertation aims to describe particular manifestations of the gender specific mechanisms affecting different women and men migration experience.

Contemporary German integration policy and consequences of illegal migration

According to the approximate estimation of the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees the number of residing immigrants has reached almost 7 million with a considerable fraction of people with a residence history being longer than 20 years. Despite the ongoing debates on the immigrant integration and integration policy since the seventies, the official German integration policy has been established no sooner than in 2005 within the context of the Immigration Act (das Zuwanderungsgesetz). Firstly, the proposed bachelor thesis deals with the development of the immigration, covering the period from the post-war era till today. The focus is in particular targeted to the immigration into western parts of Germany due to the more complex and wider structure of immigration compared to the eastern areas. That is also why the first attempts at an official integration policy originated from Western Germany. Secondly, the thesis handles the integration development after the year 2005 and simultaneously follows this development also from the immigrants' perspective. Integration of disabled students at Charles University in Prague since 1989

Although the situation of disabled students at universities is generally improving, the social integration of these students is still difficult in quite a number of cases. This thesis is based on the premise that one of the most important conditions of a full and fruitful experience of student life is that students should be well-informed. In view of the advantages of modern information technologies (speed, accessibility, low cost) more and more information is being conveyed via electronic media. Students are expected to take an active approach to obtaining information from these media, but as with other forms of mass diffusion of information, here too there is a risk that specific information for minority groups, including disabled students, will be overlooked. Furthermore, physical disability represents a constraint on students that makes them particularly dependent on prompt, accessible and correct information. The integration of disabled students into the university is conditioned by the creation of equal opportunities for study and other activities that are part of university life. Rite, LSD and Freetechno

Minulý rok policejní jednotky z pochybných důvodů a dosti nevybíravým způsobem rozehnaly hudební festival Czechtek. Krev a nemalá finanční částka, jenž zaplatili daňoví poplatníci za zásah bezpečnostních složek vyvolala mediální bouři a něco, co se dá jen stěží nazvat diskuse. Tato práce je skromným příspěvkem k případné skutečné diskusi a domnívám se, že přispívá k vysvětlení, proč a co jsou akce jako Czechtek a jakou představují společenskou nebezpečnost. Tato práce ukazuje, odkud čerpá freetekno energii pro své konání. Myslím, že se mi podařilo zasadit freetekno do širšího kontextu a poukázat tak na kontinuitu, která se nese napříč historií - již od iniciačních rituálů nejstarších společností. Freetekno je, domnívám se, zmutovanou formou těchto rituálů, přičemž platí, že výsledná podoba oné formy je dána i prostředím (společností), ve kterém mutace probíhá, nikoliv freeteknem samotným. Jelikož k iniciačním rituálům vždy patřilo užívání psychotropních látek, zaměřil jsem se na užívání LSD v souvislosti s freeteknem. Na základě svých empirických zjištění se domnívám, že užívání LSD na freeteknu nedosáhlo pro společnost nijak nebezpečných rozměrů, ba možná naopak. Dotazovaní uvádějí, že ačkoliv berou LSD v tomto prostředí primárně pro potěšení a pobavení svých smyslů, umožňují jim tyto zážitky lépe poznat...

Gypsy and employment

Ve své bakalářské práci, která se věnovala Romům, jsem se zaměřila na jeden z největších problémů, který se týká tohoto etnika a tím je zaměstnanost. Lokalitu Litoměřice jsem zvolila z důvodu, že výsledky práce by v budoucnu mohly být využity zdejší pomáhající organizací Domem křesťanské pomoci - Bethel pro sestavení vzdělávacího programu. Volbou pracujících Romů jsem chtěla ukázat, že mezi Romy existuje celá řada odpovědných a pracovitých osob, které usilují o ekonomickou soběstačnost a nespoléhají na dávky sociálního systému. Hlavním cílem bylo zjistit, jaké mají tito lidé zkušenosti s pracovním trhem a v čem by uvítali pomoc. Pro svoji práci v romské komunitě jsem zvolila polořízené rozhovory. Cílovou skupinu pracujících Romů jsem vybírala namátkovým výběrem spojeným s metodou Snow sampling. Rozhovory probíhaly individuálně. Nikdy u nich nebyla přítomna třetí osoba. Tato práce ukázala, že pokud Romové z Litoměřic a okolí chtějí pracovat, nějaké zaměstnání není problém získat. Musí se však smířit s horší prací, než pro kterou mají schopnosti a kvalifikaci. Získat např. zaměstnání kuchaře nebo prodavačky je pro ně téměř nemožné. Současné zaměstnání našla větší část dotazovaných poměrně snadno a rychle.
