Digital Literacy Among Teachers of Learners with Disabilities in Czech Republic and Kenya

The study focused on establishing how teachers use their digital literacy skills to facilitate learning in Kenya and the Czech Republic. This was achieved by focusing on four objectives: to identify how teachers apply digital literacy skills to facilitate learning; to establish self- efficacy in digital literacy among primary school teachers of learners with disabilities in Kenya and the Czech Republic; to investigate the challenges to the application of digital competencies in class by teachers of learners with disabilities in special primary schools; and to explore how teachers of learners with disabilities overcome the challenges faced in the application of digital competencies. The study was guided by the Self-efficacy element of Albert Bandura's Socio- Cognitive Theory. A descriptive research design was used for the study. The target population for the study was teachers of learners with disabilities in primary schools in Kenya and the Czech Republic. Probabilistic sampling was applied in the study. The comparison of trends in the education of pupils and students with mental disabilities in selected countries

The diploma thesis describes the development of trends in the education of pupils with mental disabilities in selected countries. The aim of the thesis is to describe and compare the differences within the same trend in the education of people with mental disabilities in Spain, the Czech Republic, France and Quebec. Research questions are formulated in accordance with the formulated objective. The first unit of work is devoted to trends and approaches to persons with mental disabilities in the global context and human rights in international documents. Subsequently, mental disability is defined and some psychological aspects of persons with disabilities affecting the educational process are described. The work continues by describing the development of trends in the education of people with mental disabilities in the compared countries in the context of legislative and conceptual documents and laws that relate to the topic of work. The research part of the work focuses on the analysis of texts and the comparison of parts of school laws of individual countries. Relationships of People With Multiple Disabilities

1 ABSTRACT The thesis deals with the topic of partner relationships of people with multiple disabilities. The academic literature does not pay enough attention to this issue. However, knowledge in this area is essential for the proper integration of individuals into society and for ensuring their opportunities to develop social relationships comparable to those seen in mainstream intact society. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to identify the characteristics of partnership cohabitation of people with combined disabilities. To this end, a qualitative research investigation was conducted in the form of structured interviews. The research sample consisted of a total of 13 respondents, 11 persons with combined disabilities and 2 senior staff members of the Jedlička Institute. The thesis provides a detailed insight into the formation and functioning of partnership relationships and identifies the determinants that influence these relationships through the open coding method. The main finding of the analysis is the negative connotation of the identified determinants, which thus represent rather barriers preventing the formation of relationships. The transition of a person with an intellectual disability from school to adult life through the prism of pedagogical workers

The thesis deals with the topic of the transition of people with intellectual disabilities from school to adult life. The aim is to understand this process and the factors that influence it, to find out how respondents perceive a successful transition and what leads to it. The theoretical background regarding the transition of persons with intellectual disabilities to adulthood is described. A definition of the transition process, its planning and domains are given. The available support in the Czech Republic, the issue of self-determination and the role of the family during the transition period are described. In the next section, adulthood, its periods and specifics for persons with intellectual disabilities are defined. The research was carried out within the PEDAL project. A qualitative research strategy and a focus group discussion method were chosen. The respondents of the survey were five pedagogical workers of schools according to Section 16 (9) educating pupils and students with intellectual disabilities in the last two to three years of schooling. Support of Cognitive Skills of Seniors of in Residental Care Homes

The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of supporting the activation of cognitive abilities in the elderly. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the aging process of an individual with an emphasis on changes in cognitive functions and the possibility of supporting their stimulation. In the practical part, the results of qualitative research are presented, in which data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with workers and clients of four homes for the elderly and supported by deliberate observation of the activation of cognitive functions. The main goal is to gain an overview of the content and forms of activation activities with a focus on cognitive functions in the selected devices. The goal is also to obtain an overview of the frequency, differentiation and effectiveness of the above-mentioned activation activities in the selected facilities and to create a general recommendation for facility staff with the intention of improving or supplementing the portfolio of provided activities. Anotation This thesis analyses the process of learning of an adult person with disabilities. It focuses on the value of education as perceived by the society, and on the meaning of education for the life of an individual. The thesis presents the main paradigms in the field of adult education, especially education of persons with disabilities. The paradigms are based on requirements of life-long learning programs and of other scientific disciplines, dealing with education and guidance of adults. The thesis also gives the general characteristics of adult education as such and describes the main specifics of persons with disabilities. Pathway to inclusion: attitudes towards inclusive education of intellectually disabled children in the Czech Republic

A small-scale research involving a total of 39 special education teachers and parents was conducted in the city of Sumperk and Rakovnik, in the Czech Republic. Since the implementation of the Equal Education Act in 2004, the numbers of children in segregated special schools remained high and the largest number of children attending these segregated special schools are intellectually disabled.
