Determination of selected elements in coffee samples using ICP-MS method
Švecová, Pavla ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Červený, Václav (referee)
EN The main aim of this thesis is focused on the determination of selected elements (manganese, copper, zinc, iron) in trace levels in selected samples of grained and instant coffee. Four samples of grained coffee and one sample of instant coffee were taken for analysis. Firstly, all samples were digested in a microwave digestion system and then analysed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry to determine the concentration of selected elements. Except this, one sample of grained coffee was taken for two additional experiments. The aim of these experiments was to investigate the influence of the extraction time and temperature of water used for extractions, on the element concentrations in liquid phases. The content of elements in the analysed samples shows relatively wide range of values (7.58 - 34.4, 0.21 - 13.6, 1.58 - 5.35 and 12.2 - 55.8 µg/g for manganese, copper, zinc and iron, respectively). Generally, the lowest concentrations of all elements were detected in sample of instant coffee, which cannot be regarded as a valuable source of trace elements for humans. The first additional experiment shows that the concentrations of elements in grained coffee is much higher than in its extractions. With increasing time of extraction, the concentration of elements increased as well (except of...
Historical objects that refers about development of corn and sawmilling in Velké Meziříčí region. Their identification and suggestions for current use
Švecová, Pavla
This paper identifies seven objects in Velké Meziříčí region that has traces of historical use as mills or sawmills. Four educational tourist trails were suggested for the purposes of this paper, connecting information about mills and sawmills history and forests and their development in the region. One of the trails was chosen based on different criteria (including the historical value of objects and natural value of the forests) and for this trail was prepared a detailed description of places with map basis. The paper will be used as a basis for construction of new tourist and bike trails in the region.
Analysis of the Quality of Cooperation between the Selected Health Facilities and Public Health Protection Authority in the Detection and Reporting of Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
ŠVECOVÁ, Pavla
My theses deal with evaluation of the level of cooperation among chosen medical facilities and organs protecting public health (OOVZ) in the area of detection and reporting some of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) in Strakonice region. The main objective was to characterize the quality of this cooperation on the basis of an analysis of laboratory-proven, clinically confirmed, reported and then demonstrated cases of STDs. It concerned chlamydial infections, urogenital diseases caused by mycoplasma, syphilis and gonococcal infections in 2005 - 2011. Research data were obtained from the microbiology laboratory information system of the Central Laboratories of Hospital Strakonice, Inc. Then all the medical facilities of the surrounding area, which took biological material and sent it for examination to the microbiological laboratory of Hospital Strakonice, were contacted. In qualitative research two research questions were formulated: whether the laboratory-positive cases of selected sexually transmitted diseases are also confirmed clinically and whether the laboratory and clinically confirmed diseases are reported in all cases to OOVZ and assigned in health information systems services. All positive laboratory findings were also verified and confirmed clinically. The research proved that in all cases were reported classical sexually transmitted infections (syphilis and gonorrhea). The established system of cooperation between microbiological laboratories, national reference laboratories, dermatovenerological consultant, venereological screening nurse and the Public Health Service is very functional. In contrast, other selected sexually transmitted diseases, which are diagnosed by specialists other than dermatovenerologists, are reported in fewer cases.
Motivation of Students for Studying in "Public Health Protection" Program
ŠVECOVÁ, Pavla
The topic of this diploma paper is student motivation to study the discipline of ``Public Health Protection{\crqq} that should provide students with education focused on the various aspects of protecting and supporting the health of citizens, or their groups, and on creating and maintaining healthy natural, living and working conditions. The primary objective was to specify the total range and level of motivations of those interested in studying the discipline of ``Protection of Public Health{\crqq} and compare them with their fulfilment in the course of studies. Later, the results should be interpreted in the context of the students{\crq} actual interests and chances to get a job. Data were collected using the research method of a questionnaire survey. All of the seventy current students of ``Public Health Protection{\crqq}, 1st, 2nd a 3rd years, at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The resulting research set I used consisted of 61 respondents. The returnability was 87.1 %. The first hypothesis was: Motivation to study the discipline of ``Public Health Protection{\crqq} is, for most of those interested, related with previous awareness of the importance and mission of the discipline. This hypothesis was confirmed by the cooperating respondents. The second hypothesis was: The motivation level of those studying the discipline of Public Health Protection is linked significantly, in the course of the studies, to the real chances of finding a job in the studied field. This hypothesis was also confirmed. The 3rd year students, who have more practical experience, are much more sceptical towards their chances of getting a job in the field of public health protection. In spite of that, most of the respondents replied ``yes{\crqq} (26.2 %) and ``more likely yes{\crqq} (55.8 %) to the question whether they think that a job in this field would satisfy them.
