The study of behavior of platinum nanoparticles in environmental compartments
Berka, Michal ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
Platinum nanoparticles pose a risk to environmental compartments. The aim of this diploma thesis is to conduct research on the influence of platinum nanoparticles in a wide range of concentrations on soil properties at different humidities. Specifically, it is about influencing the stability of water molecular bridges, the content of aliphatic crystallites, the retention capacity of water in the soil and the strength of water binding. Furthermore, the amount of nanoparticles sorbed on the soil was also measured. These indicators give us more information about the influence of platinum nanoparticles on evapotranspiration and soil deterioration. Methods of thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry) and optical methods (atomic absorption spectrometry) were used for these researches. The theoretical part of the work is devoted to a comprehensive introduction to platinum and its nanoparticles, as well as aqueous molecular bridges. It has been found that 200 nm platinum nanoparticles affect the strength of aqueous molecular bridges, have no effect on aliphatic crystallite content, have minimal effect on soil water retention, and that the water bond strength decreases due to platinum nanoparticles at high relative humidity. With 200 nm platinum nanoparticles, complete adsorption to soil occurs over the entire concentration range. With 3 nm nanoparticles, the soil is supersaturated at higher concentrations and larger amounts are not adsorbed. The results show that the larger the size of the platinum nanoparticles, the lower the negative effect on evapotranspiration and soil function itself.
Study of contamination of river sediments with platinum metals
Novotný, Matěj ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
This work deals with the characteristics of platinum metals and problems related to their toxicity and mobility in the environment, especially in the aquatic environment. These metals are released into the environment due to the use of automotive catalysts. Their function is based on the catalytic properties of platinum metals. Because of the high temperatures, these metals can be oxidized in the catalyst and subsequently emitted together with the combustion products into the surrounding atmosphere. The aim of the thesis is to measure real samples of river sediments of the river Svratka on the territory of the city of Brno and to find the possibility of contamination of the aquatic environment with these metals.

In bachelor thesis chemical and physical properties of septonex are introduced as well as its negative and positive properties, which can be used in medicine, and summary of possible methods of analysis. Further this thesis gathers information about drugs containing septonex and available on Czech market. Following chapters of the thesis summarize theory of electromigration methods, their principles, analytical devices and their use for septonex analysis. Finally, the thesis presents optimal conditions for analysis and results of determination of septonex in drug Septonex spray, which is available on Czech market, using capillary isotachophoresis. Content of determined septonex is compared to amount of septonex contained in this drug, which is declared by producer, in this thesis.
The ifluence of inorganic nanoparticles on environmental compartments
Šram, Matěj ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
Nanoparticles are one of the newer risks for the environment. Their consumption is constantly rising and thus their entry into the environment is inevitably increasing. At the same time, nanopollutants are formed as by-products of anthropogenic activity. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis describes the characteristics of nanoparticles and points out the possible risks in relation to the environment. In the experimental part, this work deals with the effect of platinum nanoparticles on dissolved organic matter. Platinum metals in the form of nanoparticles are significant anthropogenic pollutants, because they are released from automotive catalysts and are therefore the subject of this study.

Vašinková, Alena ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Mravcová, Ludmila (advisor)
This thesis focuses on pesticides in the environment, more specifically in cereals. Pesticides were monitored in various samples of cereals (barley, rye, oats, and wheat) within the thesis. The monitored substances were isolated in selected samples and concentrated using the QUECHERS method. Gas and liquid chromatography were used to determine pesticides. The theoretical part consists of the common types of pesticides, divided by the ease with which these substances into food and their impact on humans and environment. It also mentions current health protection legislation and environmental legislation.
Use of various extraction techniques for the analysis of biochar extracts
Jakubčeková, Kristína ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Mravcová, Ludmila (advisor)
Biochar is a material whose properties, composition and impact on the environment are often discussed nowadays. The reason is its application as a soil conditioner. This leads to the need for qualitative as well as quantitative knowledge of its composition. This diploma thesis focuses on the qualitative analysis of biochar leachates processed by various extraction techniques. To approximate the real conditions, six aqueous mediums with different pH values is used, which a solid sample of biochar is exposed to. The prepared leachates are after that processed by extraction techniques, which are solid phase microextraction (SPME), single drop microextraction (HS-SDME), solid phase extraction (SPE) and liquid-liquid extraction (LLE). Analysis of the extracts was performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The measurements showed that the HS-SDME technique did not show a response. SPE was a rapid technique, but compared to other techniques, it acquired a smaller range of substances. Liquid-liquid extraction, a time-consuming technique, did not obtain as much analytes as SPME. By comparing these applied techniques, the SPME technique is the best choice. The most common determined analytes were those from the group of ketones and carboxylic acids and their derivatives.
Use of capillary electrophoresis to determine a selected group of flavonoids
Tran Xuan, Tiep ; Mravcová, Ludmila (referee) ; Řezáčová, Veronika (advisor)
In recent years, the use of natural medicinal properties of plants has again come to the forefront of interest of the public. Because of their therapeutic properties, these plants are commonly used in alternative treatments for minor ailments. This thesis deals with the determination of polyphenolic acids in extracts from aronia, echinacea, tetradenia and centella. One of the aims of the thesis was to compare the amount of polyphenolic acids in individual plants with their antioxidant properties. The theoretical part includes a general introduction to flavonoids, introduction to polyphenolic acids, introduction to the principles of capillary zone electrophoresis and a summary of selected foreign studies for the determination of flavonoids. An important chapter of the theoretical part is a description of individual plants with an explanation of their possible therapeutic use. The experimental part is devoted to the process of optimization of electrophoretic determination of selected polyphenolic acids and evaluation of their content. It was found that in the extracts six representatives of polyphenolic acids occur in minimal amounts, often below the limit of quantification or detection of the method.
