Food Waste and the Shopping and Consumer Behaviour of Czech Households – June/July 2023

In its regular survey the Public Opinion Research Centre at the Institute of Sociology, Czech Academy of Sciences, examined the Czech public’s attitudes and opinions on the issue of food waste. More than a half (52%) of the respondents consider food waste to be a big problem, more than two-fifths (42%) think food waste is not right, but there are more urgent problems that need to be solved and only twentieth (5%) of the Czech public does not consider food waste to be a big problem in society.\n\nThe most important reason for reducing food waste according to respondents is to save money for their household (75%), while the least important reason is to change society through their behavior (34%).\nThe majority (55%) of respondents go shopping several times a week, while a quarter (25%) go shopping once a week. 14% of respondents shop every day.
Czech Public on Global Environmental Problems - August/September 2023

In its regular survey conducted in August and September 2023 the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the environment. Representatives of the Czech population answered questions on particular environmental phenomena in the sense of their problematic character. As the most serious problems were stated the ocean pollution (for 65% "very serious" problem).
Attitudes of the Czech Public to Climate Change on Earth – August/September 2023

In a survey conducted from the end of July to the second half of September 2023, the CVVM SOÚ AV ČR dealt with the long-standing and highly debated topic of climate change on Earth. We were interested in what the Czech public thinks about this topic. Just three-fifths (60%) of respondents are somewhat worried about the impacts of climate change (15% very worried, 445 somewhat worried), while 38% are not worried.\n\nMore than a half (51%) of respondents are interested in the issue of climate change, with 8% 'very interested' and 34% 'somewhat interested'. More than a quarter (27%) of respondents think that human activity contributes 'fundamentally' to climate change, 37% think it contributes 'a lot' and just under a third (31%) think it contributes 'a little'. Only 3% of respondents believe that human activity is 'not contributing at all' to climate change. 42% of respondents feel personally responsible for climate change on Earth, while the majority (56%) do not feel personally responsible.
Morality of Politicians Viewed by Public Opinion - February/March 2023

In the last survey CVVM enquired how strictly according to public should be judged morality of politicians and what criteria should be considered in their deliberations. CVVM also focused on attitudes of Czech citizens to disputes, problems and affairs which appear in our political and public life. In this case, respondents were presented with a list of statements with which they expressed their agreement or disagreement.
Citizens on Economic Situation of Their Households – April/May 2023

The Public Opinion Research Centre in its survey examined how Czech citizens perceive the financial situation of their households. They evaluated whether it is difficult to make ends meet with their earnings.\n\n10% of citizens indicated their household to be rich, whilst 20% considered it to be poor. 70% of respondents regard their household as neither rich nor poor. Problems with current budget of their household were stated by 46% of respondents, on the other hand 53% said they have no problems with budget of the household.
Nutritional therapy and eating habits of people with tuberculosis

This thesis deals with the nutrition of adult tuberculosis patients. The main goal is to map the dietary habits of tuberculosis patients and also to assess the nutritional requirements of specific tuberculosis patients and to compare it with the actual food intake in a tuberculosis sanatorium. The theoretical part is focused on the history, current epidemiology, clinical presentation of the disease, diagnostic procedure and treatment options. It is also focused mainly on clinical nutrition and the latest nutritional recommendations in relation to tuberculosis disease. For this research, I chose a qualitative approach which was attended by ten adult respondents diagnosed with tuberculosis and treated at the Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases Sanatorium Janov. The practical part is divided into two subchapters. The first of them is devoted to case reports, where all the basic information about the patients obtained from the medical records is summarized. Recommended total daily energy intake and macronutrients are individually calculated. The urban environment is very specific for growing of trees. The tree species in the cities are often influenced by complex of negative stressors and a different microclimate versus the free landscape. This diploma thesis deals with evaluation, monitoring, measurement and comparison of trees on two localities in central part of Brno. There are compared sites of Denis Settlement and part of the park under Špilberk Castle. Tracking took place during growing season from March to October 2017. It was found that the phenological development was faster on the surface of Denis' set for about 4 days. During the inventory was discovered sponge Hericium erinaceus on the species Koelreuteria paniculata from the Spilberk area. The translucency of light intensity by the crown decreased until August. The amount of chlorophyll in the leaves increased to July and in some cases until August.

The work deals with utility properties of pigs when they are first discussed reproductive properties and factors affecting on them, and then the production properties and the factors affecting them. The next part of the bachelor thesis is devoted to the monitoring of selected pig farms. There the work evaluates the utility properties of the pig farm and describes the economic evaluation of the farm. It discussed sales and expenses of the farm, which are the basis for obtaining indicator of profitability of sales.
