Didactic Potencial of the Project-Based Approach to Teaching Journalistic Style and Media Education at Secondary Schools

The main aim of this thesis is to describe and analyse the possible benefits of the project-based approach to teaching journalistic style and media education at secondary schools on the basis of my own pedagogical practice. The first, theoretical part deals firstly with the role of media and mass media in modern society, with an emphasis on the current state of the media environment in the Czech Republic and the habits of pupils in secondary schools in consuming media content. This is followed by a definition of the concepts of media literacy and media education, a set of publicly available inspirational sources, curricular anchoring of the topic and the perspective of Waldorf pedagogy. A basic insight into the characteristics of journalistic style and project-based learning is also provided. The second part of the thesis is devoted to a description and reflection on the project of creating a class student magazine at the Waldorf Lyceum in Prague. First, the principles of teacher self- evaluation and the principles of the 3A methodology (annotation-analysis-alteration) are introduced, then the genesis and context of the described project, its progress and reflection are described. Using the qualification of a literary manager in the teaching practice at the secondary school Waldorfské lyceum

This diploma thesis deals with the ways of using the qualifications of a literary manager in the field of pedagogy and didactics, specifically while teaching at a secondary school called Waldorfské lyceum. In the first part the author deals with the characteristics of the two careers – as a literary manager and as a teacher, and defines the set of qualities that are necessary for these professions. Later he compares these two professions and seeks intersections and parallels between them and the parts they take in a theater environment and in a school environment respectively. In the next part he introduces the Waldorf education and its specifics with regards to the performing arts incorporated into the lessons, and analyses the drama poetics of Rudolf Steiner including his approach towards the manner of speech and the art of eurythmy. In the crucial third part of this thesis the author is describing his experiences as a teacher at the secondary school Waldorfské lyceum and looks into individual areas of his activities – projects of literary, performing, artistic and cultural character, particularly in relation to utilizing the qualitifations of a literary manager, obtained during the studies of Dramaturgy for Dramatic Theater on The Theater Academy of Performing Arts.

THE SCRIPT AS A WAY OUT FOR ACTING AND DIRECTORIAL STAGING OF DRAMATICAL SITUATIONS

This work deals with the problem of staging a dramatic text and with the specific attributes of the director´s work during preparation and realization of a production. It relies on practical experience from practising a bachelor´s production Dorotka. The author focuses on the original text, describes its storyline, structure and style and deals with selected staging alteration. Furthermore he analyzes the space grounded in the text and its solutions chosen for stage design of the production, discusses the problems of working with actors and staging of individual situations and deduces general conclusions, resulting from the entire director´s experience. The author approaches the discussed topic with an attempt to evaluate his bachelor´s production objectively, to name the mistakes and all of the problems that were related to it.
