Politicization - Issue of State Governance
Čermák, Michal ; Kohoutek, Jan (advisor) ; Potůček, Martin (referee)
Téma: Politizace jako problém státní správy Autor: Michal Čermák Vedoucí práce: Mgr. Jan Kohoutek Ph.D. Fakulta sociálních věd - institut sociologických studií - Katedra veřejné a sociální politiky Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of politicization of the Czech state administration. This problem is quite widely used in the media space, especially after every parliamentary election. However, nowhere is there precise data and description of how extensive this phenomenon is within the Czech state administration. This is mainly due to the unavailability of data directly from the Czech state administration. Due to the aforementioned unavailability of data, I decided to conduct qualitative research through interviews in this thesis. The interviewees were both experts in the field of public administration and politicization, and representatives of the largest political entities. By combining the opinions of experts and politicians, whose attitude towards politicization has not been mapped so far, I tried to get a new perspective on the issue of politicization and at the same time information from the practical functioning of public administration, to which politicians are close. Overall, the results suggest that the Czech civil service is not in as catastrophic a state as is sometimes presented...
Augmented-reality Multiplayer Game
Čermák, Michal ; Zavoral, Filip (advisor) ; Forst, Libor (referee)
With the advent of COVID-19, there have sprung up phone applications that track the contacts of its users. A bad accuracy of location-based proximity at close range, especially indoors, drove developers to look for other means of obtaining the device proximity. Bluetooth came as a logical pick as all phones have it. In this thesis, we have created a phone framework that uses GPS and Bluetooth to acquire accurate proximity of its players. The proximity retrieval and common server functionality have been encapsulated into a general-purpose library that is used in the implementation of a simple augmented reality game. We have conducted experiments on the game showing how Bluetooth-based and GPS-based proximity behaves. Then we have discussed when to choose one over the other. 1
Thoth in the Pyramid Texts
Čermák, Michal ; Pehal, Martin (advisor) ; Janák, Jiří (referee)
The purpose of the present work is to evaluate the role of the god Thoth in the Ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts, a corpus of funerary literature found most prominently in the underground chambers of the pyramids of the kings and queens of the 5th and 6th dynasty. Following the division made by H. M. Hays, the topic is treated in two parts: the first is concerned with Thoth in the personal texts, where he is presented as a lunar deity and a transition figure, the second with the sacerdotal texts, studying his position in the myth of Osiris and Horus. The function of the god in both is shown to stem from his role as a mediator betwen the various elements of the divine world, mainly through a number of particular findings with regard to the individual motifs in which Thoth is found in the Pyramid Texts. The work concludes with a summary of these findings and an outline of Thoth's nature in the corpus.
Episodická pamäť virtuálnych agentov: Klamné spomienky
Čermák, Michal ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Pešková, Klára (referee)
The goal of this work is to design a model of episodic memory for virtual agents capable of creating false memories and implement its prototype. The model architecture is inspired by present day knowledge about human episodic memory. Core structures in our model are the chronobags storing details of experienced episodes, and the schemabag storing the general scripts for all experienced events. The episodes are stored in the form of AND-OR trees and it is possible to derive missing details from the stored scripts during recall. We followed the work of Burkert and implemented a prototype of designed memory model in Java using the Pogamut 3 Framework. The model is parameterizable and it is evaluated in several experiments. In these experiments we looked on the trends in correct and incorrect recalls over time and we simulated the experiment demonstrating existence of room schemata. We compared the results produced by our model with the data from psychological researches and we showed that our model can produce false memories similar to false memories recollected by humans.
On-line simulation of football league, learning of the team manager strategy using artificial intelligence
Čermák, Michal ; Spousta, Miroslav (advisor) ; Bojar, Ondřej (referee)
In the presented work is described a creation of simple football manager computer game. Game events are simulated by days. Control is accessible via the web browser. Simulating program simulates the matches by means of discrete simulation, the output of the simulation are text commentaries from the matches as well as simple two-dimensional display of the match progress. Managers influence the results of the matches by choosing tactics and selecting players for the matches. There is an artificial intelligence implemented for the managers, that are controlled by the computer program. For its implementation were used two different methods - simple hill climbing and genetic algorithms. Both methods are able to improve their performance during the simulation. In the conclusion of the work, results obtained by the methods are compared.
The Dangers of the Journey to the Afterlife Described in the Egyptian Book of the Dead
Šíma, Evžen ; Čermák, Michal (advisor) ; Pehal, Martin (referee)
This paper deals with the analysis of the ancient egyptian concept of the human being in the context of dangers which are described in the Book of the Dead, in its primary source. Only in the liminal space between life and death is possible to find articulated concepts of manifestation of existence or parts of the human being. Those terms were: kȝ, bȝ, ȝḫ, the shadow, the name, the heart and the body. For definition of liminaly space we will use theories of Arnold van Gennep and for the understanding of the path through the underworld we will use the work of Mary Douglas. The goal of this paper is to define which of the terms were used for manifestation of existence and which for the parts of the human. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
