Research of offenders upon release vs. in prisons : advantages and disadvantages

Forensic research, which uses interviews with offenders is always difficult and has many challenges. These challenges come from the offenders themselves but also from the environment in which the research take place.The collection of data in prison is difficult but also includes aspects which are predictable and can be controlled. On the other hand research of offenders after release is unique and includes many problems and situations. This article will concentrate upon the comparison of advantages and disadvantages of research in prisons vs. research of released offenders. We will discus such topics as selection of sample, reward system, motivation, ethics, security etc.
