CERIF - Common European Research Information Format: An Introduction
Dvořák, Jan
CERIF (Common European Research Information Format) is the model of the research domain. It includes the base entities of Publication, Project, Funding, Person, Organization Unit, and many others. Every entity instance can have any number of type or subject classifications. The facts are kept in temporally bound, role-based M:N relationships between entities in the model. Both roles and types are kept in the Semantic Layer that allows for formal syntax and declared semantics. Text attributes can have values in multiple languages. CERIF has been recommended by the European Commission as the standard for building CRISs (Current Research Information Systems). The stewardship of the data model has been entrusted to euroCRIS, the not-for-profit non-government association of research information management professionals.

Publishing Grey Literature in On-Line Repositories (Copyright Law Perspective)
Šavelka, Jaromír ; Koščík, Michal
The aim of the paper is to provide easy-to-follow guidelines to determine if a document can be published in an on-line repository. It is suggested that the process of evaluation can be formalized to such a degree that the process would be carried out by a non-lawyer. There is a group of rather trivial properties that should decide to which regime the work should be assigned. The presentation outlines the basic principles of the evaluative process which is represented by a tree-like structured set of simple questions. Thus, the presentation generally assesses which properties should a work have in order to be eligible for being made available by a means of an online repository.

Repurposing Grey Literature - Linking Research Data to Full-Text Publications: Some Preliminary Results
Farace, Dominic
This presentation deals with the research design and preliminary results of EPP, an Enhanced Publications Project carried out among a pool of over 280 authors in the International Conference Series on Grey Literature. In a way, this project seeks to circumvent the data vs. documents camp in the grey literature community by way of a middle ground provided through enhanced publications. Enhanced publications allow for a fuller understanding of the process in which data and information are used and applied in the generation of knowledge. The enhanced publication of grey literature precludes the idea of a random selection of data and information, and instead focuses on the human intervention in data-rich environments. Enhanced publications inherently contribute to the review process of grey literature as well as the replication of research and improved visibility of research results in the scholarly communication chain.

CDS Invenio for National Repository of Grey Literature: transition to version 1.0rc0
Müller, Tomáš
Until the beginning of the year 2011, the National Repository of Grey Literature used the system CDS Invenio, version 0.99.1 as its digital repository. At the end of the year 2010, CERN released CDS Invenio, version 1.0 release candidate 0. This version has so many useful features for NRGL, that we decided to take that brave step and introduce this still testing version into the main run.
