The Tschechische Bibliothek translation project as part of translation history

This thesis deals with the Tschechische Bibliothek project in the context of sociology and the history of translation. Tschechische Bibliothek is a German-language library of Czech literature comprising 33 books published between 1999 and 2007 by the publishing house Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt as a project of the Robert Bosh Foundation (Robert Bosch Stiftung). The aim of this thesis is to map the process of the library's creation from the project's inception, selection of works and publishing policy in the publishing house DVA through the work with the texts (translations, editing, proofreading, paratexts), their subsequent editing (graphic design, typesetting, printing) and dealing with the finished books (promotion, funding) to the reception of the library in both the German-speaking and Czech environments. In pursuing this aim, this thesis focuses above all on the fields of sociology of translation (the influence of the individual participants on the process of creating the library) and the history of translation (the influence of contemporary translation norms and conventions on the work of translators and editors). Financování veřejně poskytovaných služeb v obci Pustiměř

Zbořilová, L. The financing of the publicity provided services in the municipality called Pustiměř. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2016. This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the funding of public services that are provided to its citizens by the municipality called Pustimer. There are defined concepts of municipality, the function of municipality, authorities of municipality, budget, individual parts of municipality budget and indebtedness of municipalities in the theoretical part. Subsequently the bachelor thesis deals with the most significant incomes and expenses of the specific municipality and their development trend is here described. The most important services that are provided by the municipality are described in the following part. There are listed possible proposals for the improvement of using property and increase the amount of services provided. The aim of this piece of work is to evaluate the financial situation in the municipality on the basis of the financial analysis and the possibility of improving management.

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is an annotated translation of an original German text to Czech. The translated text is composed of the introduction and two selected chapters from the educational material Präsentationstechnik. Sechs Schritte zu einer erfolgreichen Präsentation made by the company TRANSFER GmbH for the foundation Otto-Benecke-Stiftung, which used it in its project You.PA. The thesis is divided into two parts, a translation and a commentary. The commentary includes an analysis of the original text, the translation method, a typology of translation problems and their solutions on different textual levels and a typology of translation shifts caused by the process of translation. The commentary is based mainly on theoretical publications written by Ch. Nord, M. Čechová & Co., J. Levý and A. Popovič.

The Linguistic Picture of Warsaw in Lyrics of Polish Songs

The aim of this diploma thesis, entitled "The Linguistic Picture of Warsaw in Lyrics of Polish Songs", is to reconstruct the image of the Polish capital by analyzing songs by Warsaw hip hop performers. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of three chapters focusing on the linguistic picture of the world, hip hop subculture both in the world and in Poland and the language of hip hop. The main goal of the practical part is to reconstruct the image of Warsaw as perceived by the Warsaw hip hop subculture. Marketing potential of contemporary art fairs

The master's thesis deals with the marketing potential of the recent art work fairs. The aim of the thesis was to analyse the potential of the fair trades with the emphasis on the benefits of participation for the Czech private galleries in such fairs. The thesis also deals with the fair as one of the communication mix tools, which shall serve to achieve the marketing and communication goals and presents the relationships between the participants in the art work market. The advantages of the participation in recent art work fairs were analysed through the method of interview comparison with the gallery owners and employees. The analytical part covers the analysis of the participation of a Czech private gallery in an international recent art fair and presents the barriers of entry for Czech galleries in such fairs. With regard to the results of the analysis the measures were recommended that would lead to more effective usage of the marketing potential of the recent art fairs.
