Continuing Education as a Factor of Job Satisfaction Among Foreign Language Lectors

Given the increasing importance of continuing education in adult life, this development opportunity is increasingly being offered to employees within the organisation. Although there is a body of work looking at the potential for continuig education and its impact on job satisfaction for school teachers, this area is not well researched for language educators. The aim of this paper is to analyse continuing education and its relationship with job satisfaction in foreign language educators. The background of the thesis will provide an overview of continuing education, its function, purpose and role in relation to employment. Foreign language lecturers and their specifics within the lecturing job are approached, and last but not least, job satisfaction and its relation to continuing education are elaborated. The quantitative empirical research was carried out using a questionnaire. The aim of the research is to analyse the influence of the possibility of further education provided by the school on the overall job satisfaction of lecturers employed in language schools. Psychosocial workload in HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés) organisations

5 Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of psychosocial workload in HORECA organizations (hotels, restaurants, cafes). The aim of the thesis is to identify and describe the main psychosocial factors of workload with regard to the specifics of the HORECA sector, which includes the hotel industry and various types of catering establishments. The thesis firstly deals with the issue of workload and stress. Next, the focus is on the general concept of psychosocial factors of workload according to the categorization established by the World Health Organization. The following part of the thesis is devoted to the characteristics of HORECA organizations, focusing on the main psychosocial factors of workload most commonly found in the respective sector. The thesis also reflects on the current pandemic situation with Covid-19. The thesis also includes a quantitative empirical investigation to determine the subjectively perceived burden for the main factors of psychosocial workload of employees in HORECA organizations. Assessment Centre Method Validation - Approaches and Options

The subject of this thesis is a validation of an assessment centre for employee selection, e.g. examining the validity of this method. Currently, the assessment centre represents an often used method of employee selection. At the same time, however, its implementation is demanding from the financial, time and personal perspective. If the assessment centre shall be considered an effective employee selection method, it is essential to pay attention to its psychometric aspects, especially the validity of its findings. First, the terms "assessment centre" and "validity" are defined and explained. The Learning Process and the Difficult Moments of an Occupational Track in Helping Professions

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of a lifelong learning process and on the people who work in helping professions. At first, it provides a view on specific requirements of helping profession and on the difficult moments connected with their (people's) performance. Further it describes particular forms of lifelong learning and formal and informal education that tries to find out which of these forms is evaluated as beneficial to cope with the demanding points during the performance of helping profession. By using a qualitative method of an interview with some chosen respondents, workers in helping profession, an empirical inquiry about the people's experience of the difficult moments at work and about each form of lifelong learning and education is performed. Subsequently, the thesis analyses the gained findings then draws up a conclusion and a recommendation which arose from the analysis of the interview. This diploma thesis deals with significant factors of burnout prevention and burnout causes out of the perspective of a person that is in danger of burnout and out of the perspective of one's surroundings. The aim of this thesis is to describe the influence of family background as a key component of one's social support. The thesis deals specifically with function of original and newly set family in burnout prevention and finds different aspects that can be crucial for prevention of burnout. The core of empirical part of this thesis is research on the influence of a family on burnout syndrome and description of this possible influence. Process of Recruitment and its Relation to the Perception of the Organization by Graduate Candidates

The diploma thesis deals with recruitment process in organizations and its perception by graduate candidates. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify factors in recruitment process that graduate candidates perceive as relevant for making judgments about the organization. Firstly, the thesis introduces a framework of knowledge in the area of recruitment process, its strategy and methods complemented by ethical standards and employer branding conception. Characteristics of the target group of candidates are also introduced with emphasis on Generation Y specification, as graduate candidates are part of this group. Significant part of the work is represented by current findings on the topic of candidates' perception of the recruitment process and factors that are positively or negatively influencing their perception of the organization. Empirical research with mixed research design is also a part of this thesis, and its aim is to investigate the recruitment process in relation to both candidates and HR professionals, to get a holistic view on the topic. Education of Roma Women as a Tool of the Social Change

This thesis introduces Romani women as an eligible target group for the lifelong learning and emphasizes the role of women when trying to initiate social change in Roma communities. Education of Roma women can be effective and have a significant impact on the entire Roma community in case that it is implemented considering their role and position in communities, their socio economic status and their ethnicity. The thesis focuses on the current situation of the Roma minority and especially Roma women in the Czech Republic. It presents an image of Roma women, portrays the context of her life as well as the concept of multiple disadvantages Roma women face. It examines the role of education in the pursuit of social inclusion and empowerment of women and provides examples of successful initiatives from several countries. The last chapter provides advice for any future educators of this specific target group, how to plan and implement the education.
Specific Needs of Deaf People Studying at Universities in Czech Republic

The thesis focuses on the issue of education of people with hearing disabilities at universities in the Czech Republic. It emphasizes the specific educational needs of people with hearing disabilities who study at the university, and which meet the needs by support services. Work specifically address to the different types of support services and centres to support students with special educational needs at universities that offer these services. The survey, conducted in the form of online questionnaire, found that the use of support services is frequented and at the same time, the quality of these services is rated as very high. The survey also followed the use of modifications graduation exam correlated using a modification of entrance exams for universities. Created an online questionnaire in the Czech sign language provides effective feedback deaf students to the centres to support students with special educational needs. Hardiness of Senior Citizens participating in Universities of the Third Age

The population is getting older. Prognosis predict increasing numbers of people in the age group 65+ in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to think about involving senior citizens in social development and supporting their self-sufficiency up to a higher age. Education is one of the ways to achieve that. The focus of this thesis is on education within the Universities of the Third Age, which it studies from a new point of view. Hardiness is seen as part of personal characteristics which helps the individual cope with stressful situations. Research in this thesis is trying to find out if the senior citizens attending the Universities of the Third Age have a higher scores on hardiness then those who do not attend, and also whether they have a more positive outlook on their health and meaning of their lives. The thesis also studies whether the scores on hardiness depends on gender, formal education level and whether it is connected to perceived social support. The results show that there is no difference in the scores on hardiness resulting from gender. Senior citizens attending the Universities of the Third Age have a more positive outlook on their health and they also perceive their lives as more meaningful. Barriers in Education of Mothers on Parental Leave

This Bachelor's thesis focuses on barriers in further education of mothers on parental leave. It aims to find what the specifics of these barriers are, as compared to the wider adult population. Mothers on parental leave are considered a specific group in the job market as well as in the field of education; therefore they need to be given special attention. The first part of the thesis defines further professional education as a part of lifelong education and introduces the surveys representing the base for my own survey, and also introduces some of the factors that influence the perceived barriers in education of mothers on parental leave. The detection of barriers in further education of mothers on parental leave was carried out in a quantitative survey.
