Revitalization of river for fish
Štěpánová, Markéta ; Vrba, Jan (referee) ; Milerski, Rudolf (advisor)
This bachelor thesis addresses the issue of restoration of water flows. In this thesis takes into account the conditions for life and migration of aquatic animals. In the first part of this thesis are to analyze the types of water flow characteristics and fish´s zones. Further there are examples of modifications of water flows with regard to aquatic animals. The second part describes the character of existing condition of the Svitava River, in a section of Brno. There is also an assessment of the impact of buildings on the migration of aquatic animals, and also proposes some examples of adjustments.
Evaluation of pulse Wave Velocity Based on Whole-Body Bioimpedance
Soukup, Ladislav ; Tyšler, Milan (referee) ; Vrba, Jan (referee) ; Vondra, Vlastimil (advisor)
This thesis deals with the methodology of use of whole-body impedance cardiography for evaluation of pulse wave velocity. The first three chapters explain selected hemodynamic properties of the arterial system related to the issue of pulse wave propagation. At the same time the ordinary methods for estimation, its disadvantages and merits has been summarized. Points at issue of whole-body impedance evaluation methodology for pulse wave velocity are researched in second part of this thesis. In order that analysis the procedure for correct methodology has been determined. Particularly determination of reference proximal point for calculation of transit time towards aortic valve, and design and accuracy of transit distance measurement were discussed. Based on the obtained data, a calculation of representative pulse wave velocity to eight limb locations was performed.
The study navigable Odra in the Ostrava - state boundary with Poland
Halaška, Ondřej ; Vrba, Jan (referee) ; Veselý, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the problem of navigability of the Odra River from Ostrava to the Polish state border. The development of the European waterway transport together with the current condition of Czech waterways is described and a comparison of water, road and railway cargo transport is made. The next parts of the thesis deal with the historical development of Odra waterways, its route and transport capacity. The last part of the thesis is devoted to hydrological and bed-load ratio of the Odra River, after realization navigability.
Measurement of tissue embryos by MR imaging methods
Vrba, Jan ; Mikulka, Jan (referee) ; Bartušek, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this work is to determine the volume of water in tissue cultures of spruce MR imaging methods and changes during growth. Was measured set of samples, where was found contain of cluster in each cuts. It describes spin-echo method, which was used for measurement. In this work is given a description of the acquisition, calculation, evaluation and graphical representation of measured values.
The protection of the village Račice against the extravilan run off
Hyžák, Aleš ; Vrba, Jan (referee) ; Milerski, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis deals with problematic of external area water in river basins and its negative impact on the urban areas. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is describes the possibilities of technical interventions in river basins, which can affect the hydrologic conditions in those basins. First part also describes the possibilities of transformation by particular types of draining facilities. Second part of the thesis consists of an analysis of the situation in the village Račice and proposition of hydrotechnological solution for this village.
Comparison of the effects of rain on the old and new rainfall simulator
Banzetová, Diana ; Vrba, Jan (referee) ; Milerski, Rudolf (advisor)
This dissertation is focused to modeling of the rainfall in laboratory conditions by the rainfall simulator invented in VUT Brno. Results of the measuring are compared with measured values of the original rainfall simulator located in VVU VSH VUT in Brno by the Kninicky village in 1976-1980. Dissertation verifies rightness of substituting the natural rain with the rainfall simulator on bare soil in the original location, kinetic energy of the rain drops is substituted with the energy gained from the weight of the drops - the flow. Generally the dissertation determines the possibilities of the rainfall simulator's current location.
Flood protection in the community Želešice from streams Bobrava and Hajanský potok
Marek, Vít ; Vrba, Jan (referee) ; Veselý, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis is a study of flood protection in the community Želešice, Brno-venkov. The theoretical part deals with: the causes of flooding, their dividing and deals with options, how to protect endangered area. Main part includes calculations of the amount of sediment in the river Bobrava and the Hajanský stream, analysis of risks by quantitative expression, suggests to complete the flood plan of the community and a list of designed flood control measures with own technical suggestion. The last point is to consider, whether is the community threatened by backwater from the river Svratka, which the river Bobrava flows into.

The small reservoirs as part of cultural landscape
Portová, Nikola ; Vrba, Ing Jan (referee) ; Milerski, Rudolf (advisor)
While the title of this thesis is “Small reservoirs as a part of the cultural landscape”, the focus of this study is much broader. The analysis goes beyond small water reservoirs, discussing both the historical and technical aspects of their restoration with emphasis on the south Moravian reservoir systems. The opening chapter explores the history of the relationship water has with both society and nature. In the second chapter, the focus shifts onto the various roles, the physical and technical characteristics, as well as the methods for restoring small water reservoirs. In the final chapter, the emphasis shifts from reservoirs to ponds - and their utilization for farming fish. This chapter starts by exploring the current pond systems across Czech Republic, and then compares today’s south Moravian pond systems to their historical beginnings.
