School as an integration partner. Project final research report

The final research report presents the results of the project School as an Integration Partner, which aimed to analyze in detail the situation of pupils with insufficient knowledge of Czech as the language of instruction at primary schools in Prague in the years 2019-2021. The introductory chapter presents the project aims, as well as the employed methodology and the definitions of key terms. The second chapter focuses on the state of knowledge, particularly with regard to existing data sources and the data itself, as well as previous research targeting pupils with migration background. The key part of the research report is the third chapter presenting the results of three waves of questionnaire surveys conducted at primary schools in Prague. The research at primary schools focused on the number of pupils with insufficient knowledge of Czech as the language of instruction according to their level of Czech language proficiency, the forms of support provided by schools, as well as the funding of this support, its sufficiency, the existence of teachers specialized in teaching Czech as a second language and coordinators. The individual waves of monitoring also explored specific issues such as distance learning or the new system of language training. The fourth chapter of the report presents the results of the qualitative research – the case study and the analysis of in-depth interviews with various actors from school directors to teachers, coordinators and finally parents of pupils with migration background. The final chapter summarizes the findings. The research report is accompanied by questionnaires from the three waves of the survey and automated reports presenting the results of the survey for the whole of Prague and for the individual administrative districts of Prague 1-22.
Person-centered Care in Residential Care Facility for the Elderly

The aim of this thesis is to identify and to describe barriers to the implementation of person-centered care in specific residential care facility for the elderly. For this purpose, the author firstly conceptualizes the concept of person-centered care. Consequently, she develops the Framework for conducting research. The theoretical portion consists of five chapters. The first chapter focuses on the person- centered care concept introduction, then it describes the relationship between concepts 'individualization of care' and 'person-centered care'. In the conclusion of the first chapter, the Schema of the concept is introduced. The Schema visualizes the structure for chapters two to five. In those chapters, a description of the systems defined in the Schema is provided. Those are: Care Recipients, Direct Care Actors, and Service Providers. The end of the first part brings the topic of a suitable organizational culture. The empirical portion firstly offers the summary of the theoretical background - so follows the Framework for the consequent analysis and data interpretation - then introduces relevant aspects within researched organization, particularly within organization currently implemented a psychobiographical model of care that is the approach to person-centered care. Regulation of smoking in health care facilities IKEM

This thesis deals with the regulation of smoking in health care facilities cloth. The subject of my interest is to investigate the regulation of smoking in the course of the ICEM and its resultant effect, ie the evaluation of the project. The theme of the work is the search for a path that would provide support and motivation of employees in the regulatory process in order to control smoking in IKEM run successfully and efficiently. The work focuses on the process control in the organization and also examines how individual employees comply with regulatory measures , how they are taken and what are their attitudes towards regulatory mandates . I also analyzed the attitudes and strategies of smokers to organizational changes and their motivation to quit smoking. Based on the finding that the changes were not properly managed, or coordinated , and that employees in the change process did not have any support, including the lack of assistance in quitting , I lead organizations recommended the following steps . Psychological experience infertility and assisted reproduction in terms of infertile individuals

The aim of this dissertation was to find out how does a woman experience infertility and how do women experience the process of assisted reproduction, comunication with the personel in the centres of reproductive medicine, relationships with their surroundings, family and friends. This dissertation answers three main questions: How does a person experiences asisted reproduction? What kind of copying strategies they use to overcome the stress connected with assisted reproduction? How does an individual experience approach and communication skills of the personel of a centres of reproductive medicine. According to chosen topic of experiencing infertility I have chosen a qualitative research method in the form of case study. Basic strategy for sample selection was purposive (judgemental) sampling through centre of reproductive medicine. I have chosen grounded theory method for the data analysis. Standardized interview was made with every participant. Findings of this qualitative research brings the understanding to person experiencing infertility. Those findings will contribute to more empathy understanding to patiens and their partners during hard time in their life from health care profesionals working in centrs of reproductive medicine. The Motives and Strategies in the Behaviour of Parents Refusing the Compulsory Vaccination

7 ABSTRACT The compulsory vaccination of children has lately become a very actual and frequently discussed topic in the Czech Republic. The public opinion about the compulsory vaccination divide parents on two different groups which are presented by the opinion for or against the vaccination. In my thesis I tried to present the opinion of parents with the different view on the compulsory vaccination. The thesis mainly focuses on the decision-making process by parents. I try to describe how they perceive the compulsory vaccination of their children and what their experience with it is, and how they consequently decide about the realization, changes and rejection of the compulsory vaccination. The main research issue of my work is: What steps parents take when making opinion about the compulsory vaccination and what is happening with parents who decide for or against vaccination. In the theoretical part of my thesis I concentrate on the description of the history of the compulsory vaccination, on the development of system of the vaccination in our country and in the world, on the vaccination schemes and vaccines, the list of vaccinated diseases, the functions of immune system, the model of distribution and payment for the vaccines, the criticism with arguments for and against the vaccination. Bariatric Surgery and Obese Patients' Motivation

This diploma thesis deals with obese patients' motivation to undergo or refuse a bariatric surgery in obesity treatment. The aim of the thesis was to create an overview of patient's motivation to undergo or refuse a bariatric surgery, to show an obese patient's situation (a candidate for a bariatric surgery) from a closer perspective and offer recommendations for the work with obese patients. The qualitative research method in a form of a semistructured interview with the obese patients, who are being treated in obesity ambulances, and with the psychologists, who work with obese patients, was used to analyse the theme of the research. The eight interviews were conducted and analysed with open coding. Obese patients are motivated to undergo a bariatric surgery by improvement of their health, increased attractiveness and by expectation of their obesity's final solution. Obese patients don't want to undergo a bariatric surgery because they're convinced, that they could manage to lose weight and keep it without undergoing a bariatric surgery. Also because they are worried about the bariatric surgery, its complications, its restrictions, required anesthesia and about the failure after undergoing bariatric surgery. Verbal communication in home health care

VERBAL COMMUNICATION IN HOME HEALTH CARE Diploma thesis deals with problems of verbal communication in home health care. This is topical and very important issue in the fieldwork, as in each workplace there is a need of good superior-inferior communication, as well as cooperation among workers of the institution. Then employees-patients and senior employees-patients communication, and finally interaction among patients' general practitioners and patients' family members also plays important role in this field of health care. General description of communication is included into theoretical part; afterwards details about verbal communication follow. The next part refers to communication in organization and communication in health care. Theoretical part is concluded with information about home care. In the practical part, using the form of quantitative research, the standard of contemporary verbal communication in the home nursing service department of City charity Plzeň is found out. The areas of possible improvement of verbal communication in a given workplace are revealed. Compliance with legislation by healthcare professionals in the ICU

The topic of this diploma thesis is the compliance with legislation in an area of competencies of general nurses and special nurses working in intensive care units (ICU). The aim of the investigation was to map out, how nurses in the ICU comply with legislation in the area of their competencies and whether their work is influenced by anything. The results showed two trends - situation within a specific unit, that means whether nurses contravene their competencies; whether nurses are aware about their competencies and about competencies of doctors and in addition why nurses are contravening their competencies and what is the opinion of doctors on compliance of competencies for medical professionals, what is the position of management towards contravention of competencies by nurses . Furthermore, the situation overall, that means existence of further regulatory measures, which impact on the conduct of nurses within units. On the basis of those findings the following recommendations are made for leaders of department. The first part explains the legislation that relates to the topic of the work, description of the performance, overview of the management of quality system in health care.
