Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá technológiami Web 2.0 a Library 2.0. Snaží sa priblížiť podstatu týchto termínov, charakterizovať ich najpodstatnejšie znaky a princípy, na ktorých sú postavené. Popisuje postupný vývoj webu až po jeho súčasnosť so snahou zdôrazniť najpodstatnejšie zmeny, ktoré sa v súhrne označujú pojmom Web 2.0. Druhá časť je zameraná na technológiu Library 2.0. Vysvetľuje oblasť knihovníckych služieb vo svete internetu. Záverečná časť mapuje situáciu v týchto oblastiach na českom internete. Objasňuje príčiny pomalého prieniku týchto nových technológií na český web, popisuje najvýznamnejšie služby nesúce sa v duchu princípov Webu 2.0 a angažovanosť štátu na tomto poli.

perspective of information retrieval on the internet

The aim of this work is to introduce to the problems of information search on the internet and at the same time outline the development of this branch to the future. The reader can find here the description of chosen techniques that are used for automatic indexing that is important for submission of documents. After I survey to the possibilities of advanced queries that can make the queries more definite and that impact the result of found publications. This work also deal with modern trends as perfection of position in the search engines. The reader can find here problems that can ensue by searching. In the last chapter there are described some of modern trends of information searching. In this work I use some of practical examples of whole searching and their results. With regard to dynamism of this branch it is possible that in the future will be results different.

Táto práca sa zaoberá Internetom, ktorý zásadným spôsobom zasahuje do vývoja spoločnosti a pretvára ju na spoločnosť informačnú. Prvá časť pojednáva o problémoch spojených s vyhľadávaním informácií v prostredí Internetu. Druhá časť sa zaoberá počítačovou a internetovou gramotnosťou, ktoré sú nutnou podmienkou využívania služieb Internetu a zároveň posudzuje súčasný stav počítačovej a internetovej gramotnosti v podmienkach Českej republiky. Posledná časť porovnáva dostupnosť vysokorýchlostného Internetu v Českej repbulike a v krajinách pôvodnej EÚ 15 a regiónu V4.

Modern approaches to web development

The aim of this thesis is the introduction to the modern approaches to web development. The thesis is divided into three main parts. First two parts are theoretical and last part is practical. The frst part presents two technologies, web services and the object-relational mapping, that meant a large boom in the web applications during last years. The second part of this work explains web frameworks Ruby on Rails and Django. These frameworks are representatives of moderns tools for web development. Programming languages Ruby and Python are introduced along with those frameworks. Final part of this work is practical and shows how simple appli- cation would be implemented in the frameworks Ruby on Rails and Django. Themain contribution of this thesis is introducing modern approaches of web development and outline possible future development.

Vybrané aplikace a služby webu 2.0

Submitted thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part is theoretical, focused on description of individual part of web 2.0 and on description of chosen applications and services. Second, practical part is focused on comparison of selected applications of web 2.0. To be more concrete, it is focused on blogging system comparison, online word processor comparison and on online maps comparison. In the appendix, there is own survey based on a questionnaire. The main objective of this thesis is to provide general summary of this issue. Besides delimitation of the term web 2.0, it is a summary of applications and services, which achieves the characteristics of web 2.0. As for subsidiary objectives, there is a possibility for users to choose optimal blogging system, online word processor or online map due to their demands. This possibility is based on conducted comparison.

Competitive Intelligence: A competitive environment analysis of PolyPLASTY s.r.o

The goal of the presented work Competitive Intelligence: A competitive environment analysis of PolyPLASTY s.r.o. Company is to outline theoretical principals that are used for competitive environment analyses, to analyze the competitive environment of a company named PolyPLASTY s.r.o. and to design ontology for analysis of corporate competitive environment by using Topic Maps technology. A common contribution I would like to achieve by writing this paper is firstly to produce the competitive environment analysis for PolyPLASTY s.r.o. and to outline theoretical principles possible. Besides that, an annotated document and knowledge base essentials have been created. The knowledge base might me used for building a knowledge portal to monitor the competitive environment of PolyPLASTY Company systematically. This paper has been produced thanks to information gathered on an interview with Ing.Vlček and many other information resources. Seminar papers written by students of the University of Economics in Prague concerning competitive intelligence analysis for companies from Omni pack Cluster based on Porter's Five Forces method has been used a lot. The analysis has been produced as a structured document annotated by Topic Maps technology (in the structure used at the University of Economics) as well. The document also represents a knowledge base which can be used to build a knowledge portal for systematic monitoring of competitive environment of PolyPLASTY Company. The paper consists of two parts. The first one begins with Competitive Intelligence introduction. A plenty of theoretical principles that can be used for competitive intelligence analysis follow. Methods "Porter's five Forces Analysis" and STEEP (Social, Technological, Economic, Ecological and Political aspects) have been brought closer. At the end of the theoretical part the concept of Topic Maps have been described. The second part is concerned with application of mentioned methods in conditions of PolyPLASTY Company from Omni pack Cluster. The application part continues with a manager output describing acquired analysis results shortly. A description of created knowledge base concludes the second part. The annotated document as well as the knowledge base can be found on enclosed CD.

Using A/B testing and multivariate testing to increase web profitability

This text concerns methods of parallel quantitative testing of web pages in order to increase their profitability. These methods bring new possibilities and overcome drawbacks of their ancestors. This work deals in detail with preparation, execution and result evaluations of quantitative tests. In chapters concerning test preparation this text describes the right technique of hypothesis formulation and selection of method for their verification. Text continues with description of tools available for conducting quantitative testing. Following chapters contain set of best practices and suggestions for successful testing. In its practical part, the text proves benefits of these methods by results interpretation of two successful tests conducted on a real e-commerce project and corporate website. Practical part also describes technical aspects of conducted tests in detail.

Metadata a zpřístupňování informací na webu

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá metadátami a sprístupňovaním informácií na webe. Popisuje krátko históriu metadát, dôvody ich vzniku a ich vývoj až po súčasnosť. Vysvetľuje podstatu metadát a zaoberá sa ich významom a využitím v súčasnom svete, v období informačnej explózie a narastajúceho množstva neorganizovaných informácií a snaží sa načrtnúť, akým spôsobom by mohli pomôcť k zlepšeniu terajšieho stavu. Druhá časť sa zameriava na oblasť sprístupňovania informácií na webe v spojení s metadátami. Sú tu popísané vybrané druhy metadátových štandardov a ich využite spolu s ukážkovými príkladmi.
