La Tene period sunken-floored houses in Bohemia

In addition to this group the low equipped graves were documented, in them the richest findings were missing and the synthetic works don't pay frequently enough attention to them. To refer to the position of the relatively low equipped graves was the principal aim of this labour. We solved the question of...

Kysela, Jan ; Salač, Vladimír (advisor) ; Bouzek, Jan (referee)
This thesis is the question of origin zaalpských2 late laténských oppida or one more argument, developed in response to this question. This theory, situated oppida central source of inspiration in northern Italy in populated Celtic Fighting strain found among Czech researchers a response: become an essential building block model that was developed for the creation oppida in Bohemia and who can despite some objections that have been vysloveny3 against him with some exaggeration, the official Czech position on the issue of Archaeology. I do not share the thought template on the basis of this theory was developed, and yet (and thus more likely) I find it interesting look again free from the interpetaačního key to verify its individual components and arguments, ask how much evidence they are on their own, how much of each other package and how it is supporting as a whole.

Lett, Jaroslav ; Frank Danielisová, Alžběta (advisor) ; Salač, Vladimír (referee)
This work is about metallurgy and blacksmithing in the period of late Hallstatt and early La Tène in Central Europe. The first part presents all known evidence of metallurgical and blacksmithing in the period under review. Examples are then presented by the most important Central European localities, where this activity has been clearly proved. In work is presented a set of blacksmith tools dated to the late Hallstatt from the hall of the Býčí skála cave, mining and smelting of iron ore from the same period in Čečejovice (SK), including a nearby smithy in the hall of the Fajka cave in Jasov (SK). This is followed by a small housing estate in Čakov with proven smelting of iron ores in the late Hallstatt based on the occurrence of metallurgical slag in the settlement waste layer without younger intrusions. Metallurgical activity on a larger scale with a period of greatest activity in the early La Tène and domed furnaces are presented on the example of the Neuenbürg (DE) site. Another presented locality is a settlement with proven metallurgical and blacksmithing activity with the peak of activity in the late Hallstatt with pit furnaces and pit charcoal kilns in Waschenberg (AT). This list is completed by a brief overview of findings related to metal processing in the Tuchoměřice area, as the research...
The origins of Bohemian Oppida: The Role of the Mediterranean and the Urbanisation processes in the European Iron Age
Kysela, Jan ; Salač, Vladimír (advisor) ; Bouzek, Jan (referee) ; Vitali, Daniele (referee)
The presented study analyses on the example of Bohemia the question in what extent the creation of oppida (and more broadly the cultural transformation of the Transalpine world in the recent La Tène period) were influenced by Mediterranean impulses and to what extent they may be on the other hand considered as a local phenomenon. The historical and chronological background are studied in detail, the question itself is approached by an analysis of the corpus of Mediterranean imports in central Europe intended to evaluate the role of Bohemia (within the central European context) in the contacts with the Mediterranean. In the concluding chapter the oppida and their settlement systems are confronted with the Mediterranean towns. The contacts with the Mediterranean turn out to have been constant and significant for the Transalpine word, the oppida, however, seem to be a largely local phenomenon. Using statistical methods helped to determine mutual relations between features and to identify certain regional differences. Both kinds of buildings were evaluated from the construction and functional point of view. The knowledge of post houses served as the basis for analyzing a season of an excavation of 1959 in Zalužany, dist. Příbram. Rozsypal, Jan ; Salač, Vladimír (advisor) ; Frank Danielisová, Alžběta (referee)
The object of this thesis is a component of the extensive issue of the economy of La-Tène period, namely the problem regarding the nourishment of oppida. In a domestic research, this issue tends to be a part of most economic models created for the La-Tène period. Two main dissimilar approaches are being used, and researchers achieve distinctively heterogenous results. This distinct difference is one of the main subjects of the thesis. The goal of this thesis is not to create a new economical model or to solve the questions concerning the nourishment of oppida. The goal is a comparison and analysis of the approaches, that were presented in current economic models. I will test the approaches from the aspect of an exchange relations, including the usege of new findings about exchange, that were made in the fields of other humanities. Keywords La-Tène, economy, oppidum, exchange, multidisciplinary
