Influence of the grease wear to its lubrication properties
Prokop, Adam ; Čermák, Jan (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
Approximately 80% of all rolling bearings are lubricated with grease. Up to 1/3 of all bearing failures are caused by lubrication problems, including inappropriate replacement intervals for degraded grease. The aim of this thesis is to experimentally determine the dependence between the degree of degradation of plastic lubricant, the provided thickness of the lubricating film, and the resulting friction coefficient. Samples of plastic lubricant were subjected to thermal-oxidative degradation and mechanical degradation in a custom-built rotary grease worker. The thicknesses of the lubricating film were then measured as a function of circumferential velocity and traction curves. The lubricating abilities of fresh samples were compared with degraded samples, and possible explanations for the different behaviours were outlined. The results of this thesis may contribute to a better understanding of the influence of degradation on the lubricating abilities of greases and could help to improve predictive models for estimating the expected durability of lubricants.
Design of apparatus for anodizing aluminum alloys
Prokop, Adam ; Hurník, Jakub (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problem of anodizing aluminium and its alloys. The aim of the thesis was to design a compact anodizing apparatus for laboratory conditions for components with maximum dimensions of 200 x 100 x 100 mm. All goals of the thesis were met, the outputs of the thesis are design of the apparatus, assembly drawing and fully functional device.
