Supervision of financial activity Abstract The activity of entities operating on the financial market is one of the most regulated ones. Economists generally agree that services provided by entities in the financial system are so vital for the functioning of the economy that the overgrown regulatory rules are well- founded. In response to the global financial crisis, there has been a significant development in the regulation and supervision of the financial system, in particular the expansion of the prudential rules of major institutions and the emergence of new areas of macro-prudential supervision and resolution supervision. These are largely the subject of the submitted diploma thesis. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the supervision of the financial system of the Czech Republic in the perspective of institutional and functional classification and in context with their development after the global financial crisis. Application of the tax assignation in case of financing sport of the Czech republic in 2010-2015

The bachelor thesis Use of the purposeful determination of taxes on the case of financing the sport of the Czech Republic in the period 2010 to 2015 focuses on the issue of financing of sport and concrete options for the diversification of financing in the form of tax assignments. In the theoretical part is outlined how the financing of sport and the tax system of the Czech Republic is set. The topic of tax assignments including a concrete bill for the Czech legislation, which was created for the purposes of this work is discussed in more detail here. In the second part the impacts of tax assignments are quantified in the form of feedback analysis for selected years 2010 to 2015. This part assumes that tax assignments would bring additional funding to Czech sport, which is subsequently discussed in a discussion part with possible consequences and impacts in a concrete implementation.
Unemployment of graduates of universities and their position in labour market in years 2013-2016

This thesis deals with the unemployment of graduates in Czech Republic in years 2013-2016. The main target of this thesis is to confirm the hypothesis of decrease number of unemployed of graduates and evaluation of situation compared with graduates of high school in the labour market. The theoretical part represents the basic terms like unemployment, labour market and human capital. Also deals with term graduate and compares advantages and disadvantages of graduates in labour market. The practical part examines development of unemployment of graduates from three perspectives. Analyses development of unemployment of graduates in individual regions, compares unemployment of graduates of universities and graduates of high school and analyses unemployment of graduates from the point of graduated specialization. Although the rate of unemployed graduates have declined over the last 4 years, indicating favourable conditions in the labour market, the situation has steadily improved - for example by adopting certain elements of the dual education system
Comparative analysis of the development of holding sovereign securities in the banking sectors of the eurozone countries in 2005-2015

The bachelor thesis is focused on the comparative analysis of holdings of sovereign securities in the banking sectors of the European Monetary Union member countries, especially during the financial and debt crisis. Based on the graphical analysis, it identifies and clarifies the volatility observed at the level of certain groups of countries. The work comes with the statement that, especially during the debt crisis, the so-called home-bias is reinforced and thus exposes the banking sector to the credit risk of the state. At the same time, bachelor thesis advocates setting up regulatory requirements to ensure, that a level of regulatory capital is created that objectively reflects the credit risk of the state.
Analysis of impacts using the non-conventional instruments of the ČNB monetary policy in the period 2013-2016 on stability of the czech economy

In reaction on existence of economic cycles, the period of economic growth is changed with the economic recession, which can grow in the crisis eventually. In such a case, the task of economic policy is to direct the economy in the right direction, back to the boom. The thesis focuses on monetary policy and its ability to achieve this task. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the influence of foreign exchange interventions used in the period of 2013-2017 on the restoration of financial and (macro)economic stability of the Czech Republic. For this purpose, time series of indices describing the stability, the financial stress index and the economic stress index are constructed. A comparative analysis proves that the financial and (macro)economic situation in the Czech Republic has started to stabilize shortly before the unilateral exchange rate commitment to the euro and the impact of foreign exchange interventions cannot be certainly confirmed.
Application of the Leniency Programme before the Office for The Protection of Competition from 2013 to 2016

In 2013 Act on the Protection of Competition was amended and there was added a section § 22ba on direct application of the leniency programme. Following the amendment the Office for the Protection of Competition published a new version of the leniency programme. This Bachelor thesis focuses on deeper analysis of the historical development of the programme in the European and Czech environment. The main basis of this work is to analyse the changes that have led to more successful application of the leniency programme in proceedings before the Office. Since 2013 the Office has recorded two-times increase of applications for waiver or reduction of fines which arises from better legal certainty of the applicants. The Office in its proceedings systematically violates the Administrative Procedure, prolongs proceedings inefficiently and in some cases it even significantly exceeds a specified time limited period for issuance of acts. The thesis presents the use of the leniency applications on several specific law cases.
The sensitivity analysis of the change in oil price on Norwegian government budget in years 2005-2015

This study selectively surveys, unifies and extends the literature on the volatility of prices on commodity goods, in particular oil and its effect on the government budget of Norway in the period from 2005 until 2015. It employs an analytic framework that examines the sensitivity of the economical channels that connect the government budget of Norway to the offshore economy. Data was gathered from the reports provided by the Ministry of Finance, Statistics Norway and Norges Bank. Findings suggest that oil price is an important factor affecting the government revenues and expenditures and that from the assesses channels only the channel of Government Pension Fund Global in Norway is the least sensitive to fluctuation in the oil prices.
The indebtedness of Czech households in 2000-2015 and its macroeconomic context

The thesis is focused on the analysis of the macroeconomic relationships of the growth of indebtedness of Czech households in 2000 - 2015. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find the main causes of household indebtedness growth and to identify the influence of this process on selected macroeconomic variables. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with money creation, monetary and fiscal policy, the role of money in economic cycles and economic theories of household consumption. The practical part focuses more closely on debt development, its structure and sociodemographic structure of indebted households. The thesis describes the causes of household indebtedness growth, impacts on selected macroeconomic variables, ability of households to meet their financial obligations and, last but not least, international comparisons with selected EU countries. The diploma thesis brings a comprehensive view of the debt of Czech households in the period 2000 - 2015. At the end of the thesis, it explains the main causes and consequences of the growing indebtedness of households, together with the international comparison and the sociodemographic characteristic of indebted households.

Promoting position of SMEs within the economy may be done through their financial support. The aim of this work is to depict the current SME environment in the European Union and to determine different levels where the companies may acquire funding. Analysis of the impact of the smoking ban in Ireland in 2004 and their application to the ban on smoking in the Czech Republic

The fight against smoking is currently one of the main preventive health programs of the governments of the mature states. Smoking is a common cause of illness and death that could be prevented. Whether the illness and death are directly related to smokers, or passive smoking problems. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the impacts of state interventions. Especially, in the area of smoking restrictions in restaurants and their concrete economic and health impacts Both the health and economic impact of laws will be analysed not only by studies published, but also by authors own investigation. Prediction of impact of the similar law on the real environment of the Czech Republic will be forecast from the data obtained before and after the introduction of laws limiting smoking in restaurant in other countries mainly in Ireland. Both from economic and health point of view.
