Vliv selenu, zinku, vitamínu C a E na potlačení tepelného stresu u kanců
Půlpánová, Barbora
The aim of the study was influence of the complex of two elements (zinc, selenium) and two vitamins (vit C, vit E) on the organism of pigs under heat stress. Twenty boars of the Duroc breed were included in the experiment. The boars were approximately the same age and weight, housed individually. They were divided into 2 groups. The control group (n = 6) was fed only to a basic feed mixture containing 0.02 mg Se; 21.5 mg Zn; 9.9 mg of vitamin E and 16.0 mg of vitamin C. In addition, 0.5 mg of selenomethionine, 70 mg of alpha-tocopherol, 70 mg of zinc oxide and 350 mg of ascorbic acid were added to the diet (n = 6). The experiment took place from June to September at the insemination station in Velké Meziříčí. The control group showed a slight increase in ejaculate volume (by 19 %), which is common in the summer months. At the same time, the sperm concentration was unstable, it increased by 15 % in August, but fell below the baseline by 3.5 % in September. Motility was around 69 % during the experiment. Statistically significant was an increase (by 15 %) of morphologically abnormal sperm in the ejaculate (P < 0.05). The experimental group had higher ejaculate from the beginning. However, the volume curve was almost identical to the experimental group. The sperm concentration increased by 23 % in the trial group after adding antioxidants. During the experiment the concentration only slightly decreased. Motility in the experimental group averaged 70 % and did not change significantly during the experiment. Even in the control group there was a statistically significant increase in morphologically abnormal sperm (by 12.3 %), (P <0.05). From the results it can be concluded that the increased amount of selected antioxidants did not have a demonstrable effect on the improvement of the ejaculate quality, but it can be assumed that this quantity has ensured the stability of the seed parameters.
The Media Influence on Transformation of Democracy
Půlpánová, Barbora ; Pehe, Jiří (advisor) ; Slačálek, Ondřej (referee)
Mass media has always played the key role in democratic process. They are not only the indicator of its right functioning, but also the iniciator. From historical point of view is obvious, that technological progress and changes in the way of informing people were related to the political area. But with the increasing role of media, they changed their position from pure mediators of informations to the main actors of social and political life. The ‚old' media, such as newspapers, radio and television, are therefore partly responsible for commercialization of the public sphere and also for its depolitization. With contribution of the globalization effect on today's world, which causes besides other things the weakening of the nation state, there are only a little of the key democratic aspects left. Some find the solution in the ‚new' media represented by the Internet and social media, which are more interactive so they could get the citizens back to the game. And right in the increase of civic engagement see the theorists the potencial for creating a new democratic order based on high-level participation. Media as a threat to democracy? The Influence of media on politics and public sphere
Půlpánová, Barbora ; Lustigová, Martina (advisor) ; Balcerová, Zdeňka (referee)
The most important factor for the right functioning of democracy is the existence of independent public sphere, which should create critical public opinion as a base for policy making. Nowadays, however, is the independence of public sphere still weak. Media play an important and rising role in this situation. They changed their position from pure mediators of informations to the main actors of social and political life. Media now represent lucrative business and their owners therefor aim for maximising of the profit. This development is associated with bulvarisation of media and loss of their critical role in society. It also influences the politics, which adapt itself in order to gain public popularity. At the same time, the politics try to manipulate media thanks to specialist on public relations or other experts on political marketing. Classical democratic triangle - society, political parties and media was replaced by new power scheme, which includes experts, media and populists political strategists, which create the public opinion instead of citizens. Society can have democratic institutions, but the culture and the way of functioning doesn't have to be democratic in all cases. The aim of this paper is therefor to describe the factors, which can spoil the relation between citizens and their political...
Vliv zinku a manganu na zdraví a užitkovost hospodářských zvířat
Půlpánová, Barbora
This thesis focuses on charateristics of zinc and manganese in relation to performan-ce of livestock. The general significance of all the minerals in livestock's nutrition is summarized in this thesis. In this thesis, there is description of micro and macro elements and its effect on metabolism of organisms. The effect of the essential values of manga-nese and zinc to different species of livestock and possible consequences on its health and performance due to deficiency or overdose of minerals in food is described. In this thesis the author also deals with differences between organic and inorganic forms of zinc and manganese, their fitness for each category and effect on economy of lives-tock and enviroment. Manganese and zinc are irreplaceable suplements in the fertility and immunity of an or-ganism. In reproduction they help with regular and quality estrus in females. In males they have positive effect on quality and vitality of semen in the ejaculate. In the immune system the zinc and mangan play an important role mainly in antioxidative pro-cesses. Both elements are part of superoxiddismutase which is one of the enzymes that helps eliminate free radicals from the body. Manganese also participates in intracellular matter, cartilage and bone development.
