Integrated treatment of people with a dual diagnosis in the aftercare program: a series of case studies
Vít, Ondřej ; Volfová, Anna (advisor) ; Minařík, Jakub (referee)
Background: In the addiction treatment continuum, there is a relatively large group of clients with a dual diagnosis who repeatedly fail in treatment and follow-up treatment, with frequent relapses and recurrences of the disease and subsequent returns to the treatment continuum. The case study is focused on the perception of the integrated treatment of dual diagnosis in the follow-up care program by clients with dual diagnosis. Objectives: The research aims to map the perception of the integrated treatment of dual diagnosis in the aftercare service by the clients themselves. The sub-goals were to map the perception of the connection between addiction treatment and their mental disorder, what factors clients perceive as important in their journey to recovery, and how they perceive the presence of clients without mental illness. Methods: The theoretical part was processed in the form of a search of professional literature. The research part was carried out in the form of semi-structured interviews with three clients of the after-treatment program, the processing of their case reports, and their subsequent comparison. Research group: The research group consists of three clients of the after-treatment program selected by purposeful selection. The condition for participation in the research...
Therapeutic potential of ibogaine in treating addiction
de Donnová, Selma ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Minařík, Jakub (referee)
Presently, addiction constitutes a major global issue, both for people directly affected by it, and for society. Many people would benefit from innovative, safe, and effective treatments. Psychedelic renaissance in the 21st century brings potential solutions for some of the most common psychiatric issues, including addiction. The molecule subjected to the most extensive scientific research in this area is ibogaine - atypical psychedelic of plant origin displaying a complex mixture of dissociative, oneirophrenic, and hallucinogenic effects. This thesis is a non-systematic review of scientific literature published mostly after the year 2000, aiming to summarise information about the therapeutic potential of ibogaine in treating addiction, including risks, efficacy, and comparison to other types of treatment. Total number of citations included in this thesis is 92. Published scientific literature provides several general conclusions. Ibogaine is a potent substance that has caused several fatalities. These instances and further research suggest that ibogaine is dangerous particularly for people suffering from cardiovascular health conditions, in combination with other substances, and in absence of medical supervision. Clinical studies show, that in certain conditions, and in a controlled environment,...

Objectives: The aim of the research was to describe the context of the use of methamphetamine in the user career of persons diagnosed with ADHD, focusing on the reasons for using methamphetamine and the benefits of this group within the framework of the self-medication theory of the use of addictive substances aimed at the prevention, and treatment of addiction disorders. Methods: The research was conducted qualitatively through semi-structured interviews. Open-ended interviews, axial coding and pattern capture were used to analyze the data. The sample consisted of 6 individuals purposively selected from the Clinic of Addiction Medicine in Prague. Positive changes in the intensity of ADHD symptoms were noted over time and especially after methamphetamine use. Changes for the...
LiDAR-based Indoor Self Localization and Mapping
Minařík, Jakub ; Gábrlík, Petr (referee) ; Ligocki, Adam (advisor)
This thesis introduces the problem of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) with focus on the use of a 3D LiDAR sensor. Firsly is written an introduction to SLAM itself and explained graph-based SLAM and dense map representation. The two most common point cloud alignment algorithms ICP and NDT are described. Then research of existing projects solving this problem is carried out. Described projects are all open-source and most of them support the ROS system. One of the described projects, Optimized SC-F-LOAM is explained in detail. Thesis describes it's odometry FLOAM and connection between it and graph optimization with loop closure. For loop closure is used descriptor ScanContext. Then it is presented design for implementing choosen project on offline and online datas from indoor. In last chapters is described proces of implementing and tuning project and at the end results of using said project in indoors are presented.
The influence of set and setting on experiencing a challenging psychedelic experience
Jetelinová, Jana ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Minařík, Jakub (referee)
In this bachelor's thesis I explore the topic of set and setting in the context of undergoing challenging psychedelic experiences during ayahuasca ceremonies. I also focus on how these challenging experiences can be integrated into one's life. The theoretical basis for this thesis consists mainly of foreign sources, such as Hartogsohn and Strassman, who have dedicated space to the concept of set and setting in their research. There is a lack of quality research on this topic in the Czech Republic. My aim in this thesis is to describe the influence of set and setting on experiencing difficult psychedelic experiences with respect to the subjective perception and reports thereof of the respondents. Understanding this concept may lead not only to safer use of psychedelic substances, but also to increased potential benefits of the experience for the participant in the ayahuasca ceremony. I have chosen a qualitative approach to conduct my research. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of 8 respondents, 4 women and 4 men. I used QDA Miner Lite software to analyze gathered data using clustering and pattern capture methods. Generally speaking, the results demonstrate a relationship between personal set and setting of ayahuasca ceremony participants and the risk...
