TITLE: Early intervention. Comparative study of the early intervention system of the Czech Republic and the federal state of Styria. AUTHOR: Jitka Barlová DEPARTMENT: Department of Special Education The topic of the Dissertation is the early intervention. Provision of timely assistance to a family in a difficult life situation is the primary goal of early intervention. Theoretical possibilities of early intervention are outlined in the introduction of the work. The study offers a view of early intervention not only in the context of disability but also focuses on the issue of threat to the development of a child with psychosocial risks. The theoretical knowledge is based on foreign experience, confirming the importance and necessity of early intervention in socially disadvantaged families. Results of a comparative analytical study are presented in the research part. We have opted for a qualitative approach to data treatment, with the aim to understand the phenomena of early intervention in the context of the given country. The early intervention system of the Czech Republic is compared to that of Styria, Austria. Tactile perception children with severe visual impairment through application of STIP test

The aim of this thesis was to provide a comprehensive summary of findings and statistical results of verification of visually impaired children's tactile abilities in preschool age (5 - 8 years), early school age (9 - 12 years) and older school age (13 - 17 years) using STIP tests I. - III. (Speed of Tactile Information Processing). The STIP test, taken from the English original, is converted into Braille and testing reading abilities of numerals. The test assesses accuracy - error making in lines, rate and concentration.
Education of pupils with special educational needs through the teachers' eyes at elementary school.

The diploma thesis is focused on the process of pupils with special educational needs at a selected school from the teachers' point of view at the primary school. The subject of interest is based on the teachers of the selected primary school, who provide daily support to pupils with special educational needs in general education. The aim of the work is to explore and evaluate the teachers' point of view on ongoing process of education pupils with special educational needs in the first grade of primary school. Their approaches to pupils, methods and teaching methods are analysed, the support of the school education program is monitored school management within strategic visions and that is mostly from the point of view of teachers working at the first grade. A combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods was chosen to get answers to the research questions. In the first phase, data was collected using a self-constructed questionnaire, in the second stage, semi-structured interviews with teachers were realized, which brought detailed insight into the work of teachers in heterogeneous classes. Pedagogical support plan for premature babies according to the WELCOME IDEA app

The thesis focuses on the area of diagnostics in preschool children in kindergarten in the Hradec Králové region. The main aim of this thesis is to set up a pedagogical support plan, the first level of support measures according to the WELCOME IDEA application for premature children. Another aim is a practical demonstration of how to work with the pedagogical support plan according to the WELCOME IDEA application, analysing its possibilities and limits. Last but not least, the aim is to underline the need of diagnostics in preschool children as a tool for an appropriate pedagogical support plan, which is not only a means for teachers to create optimal learning opportunities for children. The thesis has two parts. In the theoretical part we meet the concepts of family and parenting, psychological needs of parents of premature children, ontogeny of the premature child, psychomotor, communication and socialization in preschool children. The thesis also includes the methodology for the research investigation. Acceptance of visual impairment in the productive age

The bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical and a research part. It deals with the acceptance of visual impairment in the working age, specifically looking at acquired visual impairment. The theoretical part defines congenital and acquired visual impairment, then includes the most common causes of visual impairment, its consequences and the associated psychological changes, then describes the possibilities of successful acceptance in the form of a foreign study, and finally deals with the possibilities of social rehabilitation and its forms. The aim of the research is to describe how people reflect on their process of acceptance of sight loss and what areas have influenced this acceptance and what the differences are between male and female experiences in relation to their personality traits. Using qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with three respondents, it became clear that the most significant change for respondents was a change in mindset and motivation to cope with the crisis situation. Furthermore, monitoring one's own progress towards self-sufficiency and the support of those around them proved to have a great influence on the acceptance process. Promoting pupil's self-regulation and stress reduction in the school environment

The thesis deals with stress and self-regulation of pupils in the school environment. The theoretical part deals with the general issue of stress, stressors, expression of stress, and the child's reactions to stress. It also defines self-regulation, relaxation techniques, specific support for pupils' self-regulation, and coping strategies. The theoretical section defines the concept of wellbeing and the development of pupils' socio-emotional skills. Finally, the issue established in the primary education system. Family of Children with severe multiple disabilities

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of a family with a child with severe multiple disabilities. The first three sections explain the concepts of combined disability, cerebral palsy and the family of a child with severe multiple disability. The actual research investigation follows a selected family with a child with a severe multiple disability. The aim of this paper is to find out how the selected social groups affected the selected family and to answer the set questions: what does caring for a bedridden child entail and what impact does this have on the child's family? Has the social circle around the family changed since the child with a disability entered the family? How does this affect siblings and which social areas of life are affected? The research inquiry is qualitative in nature and is completed through interview and observation. The interview was coded according to predetermined areas based on the sources studied. The results of this thesis contribute to a deeper understanding of the issue of families of children with severe multiple disabilities. How sibling constellations can be affected by health disadvantage

The diploma thesis on the topic "How sibling constellations can be affected by health disadvantage" deals with mapping the influence of living with a sibling with a disability and the effect of the family environment and relationships on intact siblings in the field of career choice and attitudes towards planning one's own parenthood. Furthermore, it also examines the possible influence of the gender of the intact sibling on the aforementioned areas. The aim of the research investigation was therefore to find out whether intact siblings in adulthood tend to work in helping professions, specifically whether living with a sibling with a disadvantage led them to choose a profession with persons with disabilities and also whether it influenced their attitude towards their own parenting. Qualitative research was used for the investigation, specifically the design elements of grounded theory. An in-depth, semi-structured interview with five respondents, adult siblings of persons with various types of health handicaps (autism spectrum disorders, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy) was used to obtain data.
