Evaluation of the efficiency of a pilot ultrafiltration unit
Zelinová, Kristína ; Biela, Renata (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The first part of this bachelor thesis deals with a summary of current knowledge about membrane technologies and their application in drinking water treatment. There are listed different types of membranes and classification of membrane processes. Further on, there are defined operation processes that are related to their use in water treatment plants and there are also listed some of the water treatment plants in the Czech republic, where these technologies were or are still being used. In the second part if this thesis, there is described a situation in a village Poniky, in Slovak republic, which suffers from seasonally increased turbidity on one of their drinking water sources. The owner of the water supply system has an intention of treating this water quality problem by using a membrane technology. This thesis presents and evaluates results from the first membrane tests executed on the affected water source.
Assessment and Optimization of the Water Distribution Network
Bakrlík, Marek ; Netušil, Lukáš (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of this dissertation is the assessment and optimization of water distribution in the group water supply. The water supply networks are located in the Water Association of Babicko, former district of Uherské Hradiště, region of Zlín. The objective of this work is the unification of the entire documentation for all projects, creation of a hydraulic model of water supply network and subsequent verification of the existing capacities and pressure ratios. This work is particularly focused on the evaluation of pressure ratios at the highest and the lowest points of villages, whether they correspond to the legal limits, and subsequent design of a possible division to pressure zones.
Operational and Technical Condition of Separation Equipment in Water Treatment Plants
Pešout, Jakub ; Roh, Robert (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to determine the operational and technical parameters of the separation objects in water treatment. The first part is a theoretical and provides basic information on this issue. The second part contains the evaluation criteria created by the obtained information for individual objects and gained in practice by personal visits of selected treatment plants of water. In the last part we can find application of these criteria in water treatment in practice. There is also included the final evaluation of the researched condition.
Study of Interconnection of Lanškroun and Letohrad Water Distribution Systems
Kubešová, Kateřina ; Bakrlík, Marek (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes study of interconnection of Letohrad and Lanškroun water distribution systems. The thesis contains an overview of legislative regulations and technical standards related to the construction, design and directional solution of water supply systems. Following that, there is the description of the current state of the affected water mains. Next part is the design of interconnection including hydraulic analysis in using Epanet 2.0 software. The study contains several variants of the solution. The economic assessment is included.
Evaluation of the impact of technical and technological adjustments to the water treatment plant on the quality of treated water
Jedličková, Ivana ; Látal,, Milan (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the evaluation of sequential technical and technological changes of water collection and modification at a specific water treatment facility – the water treatment facility in Ivančice. The first part of the thesis explains the basic terminology such as technological processes of the water treatment plant, types of water treatment facilities, the range of different types of water based on its quality and technologies that can be found at the water treatment plant in Ivančice. The next two chapters describe the water treatment process before and after intensification. The primary focus is on raw water collection, the quality of both raw and treated water, and the water treatment technology. The last part of the paper offers multiple comparisons of the original and renovated facility and recommendations for improving the operations of the renovated water treatment facility. The final evaluation was carried out based on the information collected mainly by visiting the facility in person, and other sources.
Pump Control in Water Supply
Kvapil, Radek ; Malaník, Stanislav (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachor thesis deals with a description and construction of pumps and automated pumping stations. The first part concerns the classification of pumping technology and the way of pumping machines controlling. Then, it also discusses the reduction of operational costs and an analyzes consequences of water loss in pipes, and preassure. The final part of the thesis practically analyzes an in-question location and a proof of advantages pumping of technology modernization.
The study of rehabilitation of selected water supply network
Skryja, Marek ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the study of the renewal of a selected part of the water supply network, specifically a section of the steel water supply line near the town of Velké Meziříčí. This study evaluates the current technical condition of the pipeline. Renovation is designed by selected rehabilitation technologies and renewal with the installation of a new pipeline. The thesis also describes the possible substitution of water transport during the shutdown of the part of the water supply network, including the mathematical model. Rehabilitation technologies are compared technically and economically. Also in terms of hydraulic parameters, using the EPANET 2.0 software application.
The potential of microfiltration and ultrafiltration processes as a methods of ayays of water treatment plants
Zelený, Zdeněk ; Biela,, Renata (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the possibilities od using membrane filtration in water treatment process intensification. The introduction presents the formativ and development of these technologies, their progressive expansion and application. Then deals with specific properties and possibilities of using microfiltration and ultrafiltration membrane modules. Part of this work is the description of the materials used for making membranes, their advantages and disadvantages. Below are the possible approaches to setting and operation of filtration technology in drinking water supply for residents. Another important point of this thesis is the description of cleaning, maintenance and any repairs or expansion of membráně modules depending on the method of operation and the type of memebrane module. Another point mentioned in this study is the description of both methods of testing the integrity of membranes, direct and indirect. Testing of memebrane integrity is considered one of the most important advantages over alternative membrane filtration water treatment methods. The final part is devoted to recent findings from on going research a concrete example of the membrane device installed in the Czech Republic.
Design of Water Supply Facilities with the Support of Simulation Software
Pešout, Jakub ; Tauš, Miloslav (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is the design of water supply facilities with the support of a simulation software. The document is a summary of representative software tools that are used to design water supply sites directly or serve as supportive programs. A short summary of the origin, primary focus, availability and market price of each tool is listed in the survey. Furthermore the individual programs are divided into four groups. The section conveys the software's ability to deal with any of the following issues: - Water quality - Hydraulic analysis and simulation of hydraulic working - Design of water network - Creation of simulation models Subsequently, three chosen programs are subjected to exemplary tests, demonstrating some of the capabilities. The first program is Watpro, on which a design of a water treatment plant is drafted and a subsequent search for the sufficient dose of chemical additives is executed. The second program Epanet 2.0 calculates a model test of a water leak from a pipeline. The result is then compared with the outcome of equation calculation. The last program is Watdis, with which the same example of pipeline leakage is calculated and subsequently compared to the Epanet 2.0 result. The work's aim is to provide an overview of the seventeen selected programs and supply the information to potential users from the ranks of designers and students.
