The “Monkey Business” with Heterogeneous Photocatalysts
Klusoň, Petr ; Morozová, Magdalena ; Krystyník, Pavel ; Hejda, S. ; Krýsa, J.
In this study main misconceptions in the treatment of the heterogeneous photocatalytic data are summarized first. Then an illustrative case-study is reported. Finally the concept of dynamic active site is introduced as appropriate way to quantify correctly the essential parameter of the photocatalytic activity in the heterogeneous photocatalytic reaction.

Water Treatment Intensification by Combination of Electrochemical and Photochemical Methods
Krystyník, Pavel ; Klusoň, Petr ; Tito, D.N.
This work represents a combination of methods for removal of organic and inorganic pollutants from water. Photochemical method based on hydroxyl radical formation from UV decomposition of hydrogen peroxide was carried out to remove inorganic compounds.

Combined Photo- and Electrochemical Treatment of Wastewaters Containing Nitro- and Amino- Compounds
Krystyník, Pavel ; Klusoň, Petr ; Cempírek, F.
Electrocoagulation is a very effective method for inorganic pollutants removal from water. It is possible to remove more than 95 % of inorganic pollutants depending on pH and current density. Photochemical oxidation is able to remove all organic compounds from water depending mainly on hydrogen peroxide concentration. Electrocoagulation also contributes to reduce the content of organic compounds so it decreases the hydrogen peroxide consumption in the oxidative treatment.

Conditioning of Organic Pigments in Carbon Dioxide
Eliáš, Z. ; Vyňuchal, J. ; Krystyník, Pavel ; Klusoň, Petr
A patent review in area of conditionation of organic pigments in supercritical fluid was presented. The results of conditioning with various polycyclic pigments and azo dyes in supercritical CO2 were discussed. Special attention was paid to unpublished extractional conditioning that can lead to significant removal of residual solvents or contaminants from pigments with lower expenses and shorter time than with utilization of well-estabilished current procedures.
