In the last decade Video on Demand (VOD) services are becoming the centre of audiovisual entertainment consumption. American company Netflix is currently the biggest player on the market. Thanks to growing base of viewers it has become big competitor even for big hollywood studios. Those studios don't want to lose the track in this new, popular segment of on-line entertainment, therefore they are also coming out with their own platforms. Viewer's habits on VOD services has many specifics, for example in ways of consumption or in choosing the content. The subject of this thesis is to capture allround behaviour of czech user on VOD platforms.
Present authorship prehension of journalism genre of film review

This thesis focuses on present prehension of publicistic genre of film review by its authors and seeks for its differences from original theoretical definitions including the reasoning and question on its future change. Derivation of our research is confirmation of hypothesis which was conclusion of previous bachelor thesis and it speaks of transformational tendency of film reviews in time. Combination of quantitative and qualitative technique gathering data, therefore questionnaire survey with present-day film reviewers and semi-structured interviews with well-known figures, aims to the most perfect capturing of their present output, equipment for it and values, but also theirs own authorship opinions about points of importance within writing about movies and how it is changing in time and eventually where it is heading.
Popular Music in Television Entertainment in 90's in Czech Republic

The thesis "Popular Music in Television Entertainment in 90's in Czech Republic" is mainly engaged in the development of music show in this period, namely monitors developments of hit-parades Medúza and Eso. The period of 90's can be talk like a top of this kind of shows that have been an integral part of television entertainment. In connection with their development this study also deals with the history of these formats prior to 1989 and with the period context. The complexity of the topic also forms the theoretical basis in which work is about notions of popular culture, mass and consumer culture and globalization. The concept of globalization is closely related to the developement of television programs. Globalization is going through all the basic components of the production of these programs, both music and the television environment itself, and is just a possible consequence of the decline in the popularity of television hit-parades today. The subject of the bachelor thesis "Serial, today's phenomenon" is the analysis and description of serials broadcast in prime time. In the first part the thesis defines the concept of prime time. The changes in broadcast formats over the years are described at the end of this chapter. The next chapter defines the serial production in Czech republic, Europe and in America. The thesis describes the serials broadcast in prime time during 2019 in the third chapter. It briefly introduces some broadcast serials, which are divided by types, and mentions all the serials that were broadcast. In the last chapter there is an analysis of broadcast serials.
Most! series and its impact on the czech TV drama and media

This diploma theses deals with the Most! series presented by the Czech television in 2019. The purpose of this theses was to find out how the Most! series distinguished from standard Czech series production. In the theoretical part of this theses the Most! series has been put in the Czech series context and concrete distinctions have been investigated. It has been found out, that the most important distinctions have lain in characters, creatively used filming locations and the main theme. Also it has been found out that the Most! series can be considered quality TV so it was endowed with higher quality than other Czech series. Practical part of the theses has been divided into two parts. The purpose of the first part has been to investigate the media reflection of the series using quantitative methods of research. Alongside this research another quantitative analysis of the Czech series Policie Modrava has been made to gain data to comparision. It has been found out that the Most! media reflection contained more published articles from wider media spectrum and it differed mainly in topics and journalistic genres. Television entertainment on TV screens of ČT and TV Nova in the early millenium and today

This diploma thesis deals with television entertainment as a phenomenon on Czech television screens. In the theoretical part the thesis provides an overview of entertainment as a term and concept and its definition, further describes its historical forms before the advent of mass media and its subsequent development towards the media entertainment revolution, with emphasis on establishing entertainment on television screens. The thesis then defines the entertainment functions of the media and their importance in society, but also the criticism of entertainment. The thesis also provides the classification of television entertainment genres and formats and examples of penetration of entertainment into other forms of communication. From the point of view of Czech legislation, it also evaluates the legal conditions for the broadcasting of television entertainment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part concludes with the history of television entertainment on ČST and TV Nova. Showing Chosen Strong Female Characters in TV Series and Their Reflection in the Real World

This thesis deals with the influence of TV series and their strong heroines on female audience. The aim of this work is to find out whether selected female characters influence the general view of the femine beauty ideal, whether the viewers were in any way inspired by strong female characters and whether these series have opened up some social issues. These goals were formulated into three research questions, which will be answered in the conclusion. The work is divided into three main parts - theoretical, methodological and practical. The theoretical part aims to acquaint the reader with the theoretic basis needed to understand the researched issues. The methodological part presents research methods with all its advantages and disadvantages. The last practical part is focused on research and interpretation of the obtained data. A qualitative method is used to achieve the results, specifically the grounded theory, which is used for the analysis and subsequent interpretation of data obtained from interviews.
Comparison of sitcoms "Friends" and "How I Met Your Mother"

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to compare two favorite American sitcoms Friends and How I Met Your Mother. In this work, I first mentioned the history of the TV sitcom in our country and in the world, mentioned the central plots of the two sitcoms under review, and on the sitcom Friends reflected the events associated with 9/11. The main content of this work is comparative analysis of sitcoms, in terms of characters, locations and relationships. In the end, I introduced the episodic roles of famous celebrities and summed up the idea of this work.
